Sharks Star To Miss Trials

CRONULLA Sharks new recruit Wade Graham has broken down at training and could miss the Sharks two NRL trial games which start next week.
The boom former Panthers five-eighth limped off with a suspected torn hamstring during a team training session in stifling conditions yesterday at Toyota Stadium, where captain Paul Gallen had his first run of the off-season.
‘‘I felt just a twinge while training last week, but it felt like a tear today,’’ said Graham, whom coach Shane Flanagan is hoping will prove a replacement for retired Trent Barrett.
Graham will definitely miss the first trial against Manly at Brookvale Oval on Friday week, February 11, and will be lucky to play against the Newcastle Knights at Muswellbrook on February 26.
His place is likely to be taken by exciting youngster Albert Kelly, who has impressed in off-season training after getting an early taste of NRL under former Sharks coach, Ricky Stuart. Experienced utility John Morris (recovering from a knee operation) and winger Stewart Mills (groin) are also unlikely for the first trial.
