All boards leak, but the fact that ours leaks to a ****ing journo who has admitted more than once that he can't keep his red sun burnt ****wit mouth shut should ring alarm bells. He literally denied a board spot due to him saying he couldn't let a good story get in the way of his love for the sharks. What a stain of a human.

But these sense ****s honestly have no heart and could not give a flying **** about this club, it's supporters or where it is going in the coming years.

I hope that the sacking of Todd sees them out of the job next election by the public, even if most of us on here want them gone for other reasons.

Lost at sea.
Wait for the slick campaign style that they have promoted good image and looking out for the clubs branding and they have softened the damage (lololol).

Don't be fooled again people...

Re-signing Flanno was the boards decision, whether or not being loyal to Shane works out will obviously take a while.

In regards to Carney, the NRL forced this hand. The boards hands were tied by the NRL's integrity unit, Carney had to go.

What pisses me off the most is that Todd knew doing this sorta **** would get him sacked, yet he still did it. All the ****wit had to do was behave for four years, just four ****ing years of his life and he would be remember (hopefully) as a successful rugby league player and would be set for life financially.

Pretty sure Unity weren't happy with how the old board dealt with the Greg Bird and ASADA issues.
Calling them knee Jerk reactions and that they should have taken a step back before making any decisions.

Did unity just do the same?

I don't know the answer.
Maybe they had no choice, maybe the NRL forced their hand, but maybe they could have waited and slept on it until today to make a final call on Carney.

I'm no fan of the Unity board for the simple reason they have not delivered what they promised, however sacking Carney now is not a knee jerk reaction.

As I mentioned in another thread last night and as has been revealed on radio this morning, there was allegedly another incident several weeks ago that was far worse than this one, an incident that would see other players sacked. The incident has not been made public, the board and the club keeping it quiet, however given the photo scandal the board had little choice but to sack him. I'm surprised how fast it happened, that he wasn't given a hearing etc, but it probably shouldn't have reached this point anyway as he should've gone weeks ago.

Pretty clear why they were chasing Benji.

I've supported Unity to date, but I'm done with this team for the year.

Hoping for some marquee signings in the off season to get me interested again, otherwise I highly doubt I'll be renewing my membership next year.

I get clubs giving players the flick for bad behaviour, but after 3 clubs as a serial stuff up I 'd like to think the NRL would come out and say nah your done in this code or atleast a 12-18 month suspension.. Lines up for storm or cows next year I'll be devo, so much talent such a waste... I've moved past anger now and let's be honest if he was that out of control as reported he was hardly going to see out his contract

And yet they haven't de-registered him and so far they haven't given any indication that they will.

Todd Carney would definitely be a member of the League Club. Let's vote him on to the board.

To be serious though, I've never been a fan of this board but I don't blame them for this.

But going forward I would like to see a complete clean out (board, staff, coaches, players) somehow because it seems to me that the club is pretty broken at the moment. I guess that could only really start with members electing a new board. **** knows where they will come from though.

Cant believe people are going to blame the board for this
The boards primary platform was backing the coach and players that took peptides, because they felt the previous boards actions were knee-jerk. If you cant see the paralells thats on you.

So this was todds first ever **** up?

Besides if it wasnt our best player yas wouldnt care. Yas talk about the board having double standards but everyone of you would make your decision based on skill.

Im not happy about him being sacked, but in the big picture it really dont matter

That's bull****. The club was obligated to punish but not pressured to sack Carney. That was their own decision. He was sacked because of previous incidents this year and his history. He is not a first time offender and his contract would have had certain stipulations.

If it happened to a different player who was a first time offender they would not have been sacked.

I'm not a fan of unity but don't think the club had any choice but to sack Carney,

The NRL would've degregistered him if we didn't sack him, even if we fined him heavily and suspended him for the rest of the season. Then we would have been left without him regardles and this way the club looks like they have taken strong quick action. The fact he has been sacked the day before 30 June means no other club could try and sign him.

No way known given his rap sheet the NRL will register him for at least 12 - 18 months, and he would need to have undergone significant counselling and rehab before being allowed to play again as he shown he never learns.
