Huge call, will be extremely close. We will need to exhaust much more energy than they will. They have the league wrapped up, so can rest their big guns.

De Bruyne, my lord what a player. Crazy to think City have been without him for the bulk of the season.

Spurs starting with Llorente up front rarely ends well, they were unfortunate they had no Son or Kane available. Take nothing away from Ajax though, 1-0 is a great result for them to take home. All to play for in the 2nd leg still

3 goals though? You reckon?

did you watch yesterday or just see the score?

we had the following:

- Mane missed a sitter
- Salah saved with a worldie
- Milner either side of the keerper its a goal
- firmino cleared off the line
- salah hits the bar

their defence is vulnerable, we had more possession, more shots, just couldn't finish our dinner

different beast at anfield

I have no doubt Liverpool can score quite a few goals at Anfield. If we lost 3-1 I would still feel reasonably confident. The issue is we didn’t get an away goal. All Barca need to do is score 1 and all of a sudden Liverpool need 5. With a genius like Messi in Barca’s team, plus the fact Pool now have to attack, it seems highly likely Barca will score.

Admittedly I only saw highlights. I saw Messi tear Virgil a new one. Still, asking for a three goal turn around is asking a lot considering they’ve got Messi in the form he’s in.

I’d give you guys a chance if you scored an away goal. But it’s just really difficult seeing Barcelona not getting at least a goal at Anfield, which would mean you’d need 5.

Love your optimism Snowman. Certainly stranger things have happened. Would imagine Barca have learnt some harsh lessons from last year’s exit, would be incredible if we pulled it off.

But I shall remain pessimistic, I’ve accepted we are about 90% likely to end up without a trophy this season, which is annoying.
