First trials never mean too much. It looks like a few bench players getting some minutes in their legs more than anything.

Metcalf not being listed is interesting.

I know you weren’t but why I’m asking (in general) is if we shouldn’t pick Moylan because he’s slow does that mean Trindall also shouldn’t be in consideration?
Or am I forgetting some crazy speed from him at some stage?
Not saying you need to be a speedster but you at least should be able to run. I remember Moyza made a break last year and literally couldn't stride out. I just don't think that's sustainable, that's all.

Hopefully he's sorted that out.

i agree, sign or a smoke screen ?
I don't feel Fitz is a bluffer but particularly at this time of yr as a new coach with a new team I think the focus will be entirely on seeing how things work and what works best rather than any smoke screens and tricky buggers.

So Moylan Hynes round 1

Well there is certainly no point playing Moylan in this fixture.
So you definitely play Trindall or Metcalf… but it must say something metcalf isn’t there anywhere
  • Injured
  • Locked in (feels unlikely)
  • Locked out (bad books)
  • Locked out (transfer pending)
You’d think his position is not safe enough he’d ask for the weekend off except for a real real important event

I’d have guessed him to be 1 and bench Dykes.

Probably more pressure on Trindall to perform here than All Stars even, only player 1-7&9 with any NRL games.

Barring injury I think so. Nothing I've heard from Fitz has made me think any different even if he's not given a flat out answer.

He's been bullish on Hyns being his #7 from early on. So #6 has been the only question mark. If he was a ducks & drakes type he woulda said nothing about Hynes at half & left everyone wondering about fullback, centre, 5/8 etc

Oh well thats certainly not our top team, only about 6-7 from our main squad in that lineup. That is more like a Newtown line up imo. I guess we'll see how we go this weekend.

Barely even a Newtown line up

Quite possibly not a single Sharks round 1 starter there and maybe as few as 1 or 2 benchies even

It's the same every year mate. Never our top squad in the first trial. They'll be there for the second trial but probably on the first half or so.

Has anyone started on the pre-game beers yet?

I'm going to try to hold off until Sunday.
