If they give away one of their current starting props to get AFB they will be one injury away from having Kaufusi/Hunt starting again. No thanks.

Didn't Toby want to stay to support family? Can't see why he'd want to ditch his current contract and move away from them.

How is that a no thanks? We’re in the same position but substantially upgrading a starting prop

Or will we just be continuing our fine tradition of trading players who end up with near season/career ending injuries (sorry not sorry Doggies)? #Toeby is becoming a bit of a concern

Sharks’ issue isn’t that their starting props aren’t good enough. It is that their 3rd best guy isn’t good enough to be a starter when someone else is out. This trade doesn’t fix that.

Letting BHU walk when off contract might be ok, since you have another 12 months of development for those depth guys. Moving a starter now puts you in exactly the same leaky boat when someone inevitably misses games.

Give them someone else and run a team with all three of BHU, Rudolf and AFB…. for 2024 and 2025.

if the warriors wanted/thought AFB was replacable with someone from the sharks ranks for 2024, a deal would have happened originally.

the best part about him not getting here till '25 is that the rest of our pack will be full beast mode next year trying to justify their spot in the team
I wonder if this could be a genuine tactic you could employ. Wingers not cutting it? Give the shark park experience to JAC. Have no intentions of signing him. Just call it creative motivation.

I had said a few times that the shift wouldn’t happen until dales final year. I think i said when we get rid of him, but let’s compromise and say I meant when he stopped taking up so much of the contract 🤫(when AFB arrives)

When he does depart, at least our young team coming into their peak will have that Finucane and McInnes work ethic instilled in them

Fitz knows what he wants, it up to the team to buy into that. These sort of signing do exactly what you said in the first post. It lights a fire up under your ass, because now you see if you don’t buy in, that the sharks will just go and buy the best player in the position.
