i dont feel a rebuild at all

our 1-5 is incredible - only if Moylan finds form

our 6 & 7 need to find consistency with each other - they had plenty of chances to do that last year

our starting pack is unreal - I would argue it's not, Fifita's body is gone, Brailey is very green, Woods is better of the bench, Williams and Nikora very green as well, Wade is the only unreal one.

that bench - bukuya or not - are guys itching for a chance - agree with this but I think we'll still be short of the mark here.

we will be top 6 - only if we play at our absolute peak, top 8 should happen but I won't be surprised if we miss out.

Agree we are not "rebuilding"
If everyone plays largely to their ability and we have good luck with injury it's a very dangerous team.

As Chad points out though, a lot of question marks

Moylan - if he just spends a lot of time injured we are actually okay, not as dangerous but okay. If he keeps coming in and out and can never find any form (or stays in but just sucks) it is a big problem for us.

Chad and Johnson - every reason they can be a very strong halves pairing. A bit more consistency and less injury from Johnson will help, and he (/the club) think they have an idea what lead to this and he has been doing extras to try and correct it. Chad surpassed expectations last season even with a few bad games and some well publicised brain fades.

Starting pack - Fifita and Woods... well I think Woods can start, I think minutes are more his issue, I want him playing around 40ish not 50+. Fifita has me thinking his knee is cooked and he's a shadow of the player he once was. Except the odd game he was generally uninspiring but if we can get to finals there is still every chance he'd lift enough to not be a liability. Nikora and Williams had some defensive issues which hopefully experience and some extra fitness have made a big impact on improving. Made finals every year with Jayden, if Blayke can come in at level of year 3 Jayden or better should be fine.

Bench - green, yes, but not enough to be concerning for me. BHU had a great season and we have to remember has been established NRL squad player for a few years, Rudolf and Billy (who got a taste) both seem like very confident players who wont be too much of a liability and King/Boogs obviously very experienced. Wilton is the only one who is a bit of an unknown (unless you disagree about Ruldolf) but he has played in some pretty big lower grade rep games at least.

I'd be an interesting exercise to score players seasons (out of 10) speculatively now based on how you think things will pan out.
if the line up is as NRL.com expects (as good a starting point as any) I'll give it a crack for ****s and giggles:

4- Matt Moylan
8- Josh Morris
6- Jesse Ramien
5- Bronson Xerri
7- Josh Dugan
5- Shaun Johnson
6- Chad Townsend
6- Andrew Fifita
5- Blayke Brailey
6- Aaron Woods
7- Briton Nikora
8- Wade Graham
7- Jack Williams

7- Braden Hamlin-Uele
6- Billy Magoulias
4- Cam King
4- Jayson Bukuya

Not tipping Xerri to have a good season?

if moylan is injured you then have dugan at the back and ronaldo in, which some could argue makes us stronger, so our 1-5 is absolutely incredible

our 6 and 7 didnt get time to do it, sj had injuries and chad had flanno - this year they need to get it right and quickly

do you know fifita's body is broken? have you been to training? can you tell us whats up with it before we have played a game please. brailey is green but he has a monsterous pack to work with. woods had better stats starting than coming off the bench. 4 out of 6 have played for their country in the last 2 years

why are we short of the mark? it is a big aggressive pack. uele is huge, toby is huge, billy is untapped - 3 guys itching for a starting spot

we won't miss the 8, we will be close to the top 4 but giving us 6th to help ease our expectations

Amazing what turns people on... you keep doing you, Snowy.

p.s: You're missing a good chunk of primary school punctuation there, pot.

Hope Toby can hold down a spot. As I’ve said before, the media and sponsors will love this guy. Has charisma and is well spoken. Just has to play good consistent footy, and from what I’ve seen so far, he can do it

Guessing I can't back him for a big season if I don't think our spine is going to fire. More about the opportunity he might get rather than ability.
