Now I don't want to wish anything bad on any player but what if Luetele was picked Round 1 and got injured and couldn't play for a couple of weeks. Do we still trust Flanno to put Barba at fullback, Bird to Centre? Or will he come up with another plan?
Mitch Brown will come in knowing Flanno.

TO be perfectly honest if Ricky is our worst player on ground, we are doing fairly well compared to recent years. He isn't amazing, but he isn't a bad player. No I wouldn't pick him in my team.

Disagree. We've been so conditioned to having a spud like Robbo in the team we now set the bar too low. I'm not interested in comparing us to recent years, I'm interested in comparing us to the top teams.

He's not a bad option as the worst player in your back line but our back line could be immense.

I disagree with your disagree.

Yes Ricky is pretty average. But honesty there's dozens or worse players running around in every team. Ffs Bryson Goodwin is still getting a gig.
As the absolute worst player in your team, you could do worse than Ricky leutele.

And again, he wouldn't be in my side, just saying.

I'm talking about the top teams, that is Brisbane and North Qld. Would he get a gig in those teams? We have a better option which only makes him being in the team even more stupid.

Our 'nrl quality' left edge looked like they had no idea in that trial against a reserve grade manly team. Whoever is on the right edge for the cowboys come round one is going to have a field day if Leutele runs out for us.

From memory didn't Wade do a fair amount of covering last year on that edge in D ? Pressure will be on him again to help out i'd imagine.

I firmly believe any coach this year who takes a hooker or utility on the bench is a serious ****ing moron. You're already down to 8 substitutes this year and haven't even tested what's that is like in a first grade game and you instantly want to take one more away from yourself with a utility sitting on the bench.

Baffling.

I'd tend to agree unless you have two 80 minute second rowers or no hooker capable of playing 80 minutes.

Depends who the utility is. True utilities like Aubusson will be worth their weight in gold. I don't think Flanno realises that Barba is not a utility though, probably because he's a spastic.

Maybe. Depends on the types of players in the squad, I think. We'll have to wait and see how it works out.

I think Barba has a zero chance of playing 1 this year outside of injury. I can't see Flanno doing it, and I agree with him.
So if that is the case, is there room for him anywhere else in the backline? People here want him on the paddock pretty badly so could we do this at the expense of Mr unpopular Leutele?
Bird
Barba
Beale
Holmes
Feki
Etc etc
Would it be too drastic a move just to get Barba into the team? Humour me.

Our squad could do it easily as we have plenty of players capable of big minutes.

Yes it would be too drastic. Barba isn't a winger and I don't see Holmes being a centre, I'd push Feki in before Holmes.

Bird IMO has more potential as a centre than as a fullback and Barba has more potential at fullback (for next season) then any of our other options.

barba on the wing is worse than Barba on the bench imo.

I hope Maloney can get the team used to his direct style. Graham/Lewy/Boogie could find some real form running lines off Jimmy.

I agree, I just don't love Barba as a super sub, and he isn't going to play fullback IMO.

If ****lips is dead set on Bird at FB we need to find Barba another club next year. Ridiculous having a player on that much coin sitting on the bench.
