Tigers Vs Sharks trial, 20th February

Didn't get to see the whole game as I was sneakily watching at work so I saw a good 50-60 minutes. Here's my thoughts on the squad.

17. Prior - worked hard. Played most of the first half and typical of him. Would be unlucky to miss out on a bench spot.

Yeah I thought Prior was really strong for us at times.

I in particular liked an angled run he did mid field. He took the ball on the burst at a cross-field diagonal that made the defence have to stop coming forward and turn toward him in order to make the tackle.

Not sure whose idea it was but I liked it. He almost broke right through and if this move works some time down the track he'd be able to offload to one of our backs running a straight line.

Fifita and those quick play the balls milking a penalty... Cut that crap out man

That should be up to the coach to get that out of him. if he keeps doing it, drop him to reserve grade.

Has broken a rib apparently, our only injury of the night.

Broken ribs can be painful.. usually only 4-6 week injury lay off.. but to be safe he is better off sitting out and resting it up till around the 2ND weekend in October.. can never be too careful

Yep he did, but still not real sure about his Cover defence , maybe was not to concerned given it was a trial and di not want to get injured

Just a side note.

In watching the replay, I noticed Beale's last pass for Holmes' try. I reckon he could have scored that himself, so.............. I wonder how many tries he could have scored himself last year if he hadn't made the final pass to Val?
Very unselfish, and I think he was great for us last year and will be again this year.
