Klemmer possibly available, Fonua-Blake definitely available and Daniel Saifiti possibly available due to Bradman Best’s bumper pay rise. All three very good options I think would improve our pack (despite my slight reservations about AFB’s past, a lot of which was many years ago and I dont think he’s really stepped out of line for a long time, unless im forgetting something, so I say go for it if we can) Just my opinion though.
Bloody oath. Would be a great get and would add a lot of muscle up front .

Obviously AFB would be the best option but I’d be stoked to sign Klemmer & it seems the more likely option

Thought Klem was below his peak at newy and don't think he impressed much at the tigs. Not worth anywhere near the price tag for mine.

2 years at about 450k, sure, otherwise I'm not fussed. Signing either him or Saifiti have the feeling that they'll just be disappointing for what you'd need to pay.

This side really needs another elite player. AFB is that guy, but if you can't get him save the cash and plan for a big move in 2025.

AFB maybe... A big 'thanks but no thanks' to Klemmer and either Saifiti. Dear me! I'd rather we signed Woods back if that's the case.

Is he a plodder though?

Statistically not. Top 10 props from 2023 below. AFB was first and Klemmer a respectable 4th.

I wouldn’t call him a plodder but he definitely plays more like an old school prop than the Sharks guys do. Stays in the middle of the field conserving energy, not as busy in defence, not as much work off the ball, etc.

He plays very big minutes and stayed healthy. That’s why he’s towards the top of that list. Players who are on the field the most do the most stuff.

… but imo being able to play those minutes and stay healthy is more impressive than any other stat. That would be unique to a 100kg+ player on the Sharks.

As an aside, I’m curious - would you advocate signing Blake Lawrie based on these stats?

That’s the thing though, I really don’t think you’d need to pay big money for Klemmer anymore.

Considering what he’s on, he ain’t going to leave a contract worth 750k to sign elsewhere for less.
You obviously only grab him if the tigers truly do want him gone & are willing to chip in. Although he wouldn’t be the first player to take less to leave a basket case of a club & go to a potential contender.
