I hear you just think Cam is deserving of the starting jersey and longer minutes than Dale

Dale can warm the bench, provide impact and finish the last 20/25
I can fully accept the point of longer minutes at lock (and Dale shifting to prop).

I guess there use to be a point of difference (and possibly pay) between being a “starter” and “bench player” but not sure it really matters in the modern game and players generally get paid “their worth” now regardless.

I guess some people assume a starter is a better player and it’s a perception thing but reality is if Cam is suited to 60 mins then shouldn’t matter if starting 60, backend. Middle or split into 2 rotations.

It’s what works best for the team.

I get that Cam deserves big minutes but he does get them and when shouldn’t really matter (just my opinion and you obviously are entitled to yours).

Regarding the “C”
I agree he is captain quality but with Dale and Nicho about, unlikely unless those guys are unavailable

Would not be against him with a “VC” behind his name thou.

Based on general observation I’d go Dale C, McInnes VC and then Hynes next man up to VC if one is out

Based on watching one training session Dale wasn’t at - Hynes is the C by a stretch

I think it does actually matter. Cam is more capable of playing with short rests than anyone else, so having his long stint wrapped round halftime is good player/rotation management.

Fitz's preference seems to actually be splitting this in to 3 stints if it is doable (nobody gets hurt etc.).

Cam on between the 20th and 25th minute, plays most of the remaining time, but gets a short break mid to late second half if they have the interchanges available.

Rounds 2 & 5 are great examples, and typical of what we saw in 2022 with a healthy lineup.

Round 2: on at 24, off at 66, back on at 74 (48 minutes across 3 stints)
Round 5: on at 26, off at 63, back on at 68 (49 minutes across 3 stints)

Seems like "plan for 50, but have him play 60 if necessary" is the way Fitz has it pencilled in.

Have discussed this before. Likely Fitz prefers this rotation because Cam is fit enough to keep working at the same level with just a couple of short breathers (half time plus one more) and nobody else is at that level. Playing Cam in a 60-min prop rotation (30 on, 30 off, 30 on) seems like a poor utilization of a player for whom a 30 minute rest is not necessary. If someone is getting a 30 minute rest, why not give it to someone who will actually benefit from it?

Maybe this is numerology too @bort. Give Cam #13, sub him off after 5 minutes and keep everything else the same. Fans will be happy :)

100%

But i dont see him leading the Tigers out of the basement, especially with the hit to the cap this deal makes
He should look at Brookes and think about if he wants his career to play out that way.

He will be in the same boat as him. The key man running the team that just isn't cut out to be that person getting paid a large percent of the team salary and having all the teams pressures on his shoulders.

He really should go to any other clubs except tigers. I think it will ruin his career. My suggestion to him would be the dragons or raiders. Maximum profits while still having a chance to win a title. Dragons would be a few years off but you know Flanagan will turn them around. Raiders always competitive but wighton gone are in the market to replace him.

But I guess he has done everything and this will be the most money he will get anywhere.

There was a story written on fox where it's believed 1 club has an offer there for close to 1.4mil per season. I reckon that's got to be absolute rubbish but fmd managers bloody good these days.

They probably need a bit of arrogance and swagger around the place. Brookes comes across as a bit of a teddy bear. I'd much prefer Luai over Brookes to get that club out of the poo

Sezer will likely stay one more year if he goes well.

Luai and Sezer I think would work. Then they just need a gun centre and an impact bench prop and they could actually start the climb.

Tigers need something like Hunt or a Uele. That impact off the bench is something they desperately need.

One of the biggest things getting Luai would do for the Tigers is to give Api more options and free him up a bit. Sezer will be Steady Eddie and as I recall is a pretty good goal man. Bula will be better and will provide some X.

It wouldn't be a horrible spine with 2 multi premiership winners in it.

If Sezer does well he'll likely get another year to partner Luai if they do sign him.
Sullivan for me is rubbish. Don't rate him at all.

I guess when you have won 3 straight grand finals you probably are thinking more about money than success, like i mean if the panthers kept the bulk of their team together they could win 2 more IMO. So he either takes the cash and runs or he stays for huge unders (in comparison) and guarantees success.

My issue is, are some of these **** teams gunna start handin over blank cheques to anyone who played for penrith 2020-2023 thinking theyll get the same success? Gunna be some teams in cap trouble with underperforming squads soon
