what i dont like is when he says something like "player is coming back from england and is linked to a club but i cant say who." i would rather have him tell the whole story or tell nothing. none of this bull**** that doesnt really tell us anything.

weidler only tells half the story because if nothing happens of it, he doesn't look like a dick. he is in the know a fair bit though, with the players, because if anything happens, the players seem to tell him first.

I don't think that Ricky would be interested in him anyways, we have heaps of good wingers

Sharks reject Blacklock

Try ace Blacklock back in business

NATHAN Blacklock, one of rugby league's most exciting players of all time, wants to make a shock return to the NRL despite being knocked back by the Sharks this week.

The 30-year-old winger spoke with Cronulla coach Ricky Stuart last Thursday.

It's understood Blacklock asked former Dragons team-mate and Sharks forward Lance Thompson to set up the meeting.

After perusing his playing stocks at Cronulla, Stuart opted against tossing Blacklock an NRL lifeline, but the former Test flyer hasn't give up hope of finding a home at another NRL club.

"It was great to catch up with Nathan and consider the prospect of having him return to the NRL with Cronulla," Stuart said.

"We had a good chat and it was clear he is passionate and is strong in his intentions about having another crack. I honestly did think about him joining the Sharks after our meeting.

"It's unfortunate for `Tingha', but after looking at our playing roster and the amount of young talent we have at the club I decided against it.

"I'm more than confident that we can unearth our own star here."

Good to see Ricky is focussing on youngsters. I'm really impressed with the way he's throwing youngsters like De Gois and Weston into the mix early on to give them experience in the top grade.
That just didnt seem to happen under Raper and as a result we lost a few good young players in the offseason.
But it also signals that the sharkies are keeping their powder dry for a marquee signing. I've heard they are chasing hard for O'Donnell (along with Manly and the Cowboys). They may also have to pay more to keep Noddy.

I would've thought we were overloaded with quality backrowers:) , I don't know where O'Donnell would fit within the team anyway.

the sharks of old would have rushed to sign him...wasted good money on a 'former' international (you know sometimes they say "former" for a really good reason) and wud then of forced themselves to give him a first grade spot so to not be embarrased by the fact a 19yo kid is better than there "marque" signing

I don't think he ever represented Australia or NSW for that matter;) but I agree his not worth going after, we've got pretty good depth anyway so he probably would've been playing Premier League all year:eek:
