Anyone up for a bit more trivia? With the World Cup in full swing, I had a look at RL1908.com to read a bit on the history of the Cup. One thing that grabbed my attention was the fact that from 1908-1967 the Kangaroos performed an Aboriginal war cry before each match. Given the success of the Kiwi's haka (my wife loves it, it's the only part of a game she watches!) maybe we should re-introduce the concept to attract more interest to the international game. The way the WC is going at the moment, I think it needs all the help it can get! Anyone else think it's a good idea?
PS: You can read all about the history of the war cry here
The Haka is awesome.
The Aboriginal thing the Kangaroos used to do look like the hokey pokey.
The Australian Kangaroos do their talking on the field. If the Kiwi's footy was half as good as their choreography they might stand a fighting chance.
maybe thats the problem, to much time practicing their dancing

Imagine the look on Wayne Bennett's face when Steven Kearney calls time on training drills cause they gotta squeeze in a dace practice before lunch.
I reckon its one of these three:
I predict Bennett's dragons will have a tough time with a coach that's became complacent over the years
Complacent.. How so?
he always has a good team to coach. he's probably not used to it
Are you saying Bennett's no good, its just the team he had?
And the Dragons lineup isn't too shabby. It'll be even better once Bennett snuffs out the pretenders around the place too.
bennett's a good coach but complacency get's every one sometimes and brisbane have players on the same money as other clubs plus more sponser money because of 1 team 1 city advantage. The dragons have the same advantage as us so it might take him by surprise how difficult it could be, I think Brownie is a better coach than people give him credit for, besides I did say it was a prediction, so lets see.
when is a try a try? a try is a try from a team that tries to score some tries :lmao...that would definately not be england now would it lol as they did not score enough tries to try and beat our kangas tries did they?? no they did not even try lol...
For anyone near Sydney who's interested, there's a 'League of Legends -100 years of League in Australia' display @ the Powerhouse museum until 23 November.
I saw it last week. There's not much Sharks stuff but.
Heaps of interesting bits of trivia though.
yeah I've seen it, pretty good
