The answer my friend is 0 points, meat pies were only scored to give the team a chance to kick a goal and I didn't google it. Heard it on ray hadley's show some time this year.

and it's called a try because it gave you the chance to try to kick a goal.

Bingo Bungy, you got it in one! Zero points for a "try at goal" Does that make you one up on BuZZz?:D

when was this rule in place?

Apparently the first published rules for Rugby football (League or Union) were printed in 1871 and it is in these rules that it points out that a team scored a "try at goal" if they grounded the ball over the oppositions tryline. Furthet to this, goalkickers in this era were not permitted to place the ball on the ground, as to do so would mean the ball was back in play and could be attacked by the opposition. This was overcome by having a designated "holder" place the ball on the ground just before the kicker made contact with the ground. A goal didn't count if the ball didn't touch the ground first. That is why a drop goal is worth a point and simply punting it over the crossbar isn't.

Early Sharks Trivia!

Heres some Sharks trivia guaranteed to test even the keenest Sharkies fan! We all know Cronulla first entered the Sydney Premiership in 1967 but do you know the history of the founding of the club?
Your questions are:

1: What year was the Cronulla Rugby League club started and what was it originally called?

2: In the years before 1967, whilst playing in the Sydney Second Division Competition, what coloured jerseys did the Cronulla club wear?

3. What wealthy Sydney Second Division club competed with the Sharks for entry into the Sydney Premiership in 1967 but failed?

4. Everyone knows the 1967 jersey was sky blue, with a white and black V. But what colour were the player numbers on the back?

There you go Sharks fans, knock yourselves out!:cheers

doing trivia on the net is not a common thing for obvious reasons that's why any question you think of you want to throw at anyone needs to be as tough as this one:laugh::question:

wenty had more money than cronulla and penrith but didnt get in because of parramatta. parramatta and wenty were deemed too close as parra was still struggling to solidify its place in the nrl it wasnt thought that area could handle a second new team

Yeah...guess I thought people might like to test their RL knowledge rather than the power of their search engine! One thing is for sure, there are some amazing facts to be found out there.

As for the kangaroo question, sorry to ruin the fun but the answer is definitely two. My brother-in-law is an environmental scientist specialising in native fauna. The other two things are forelimbs with paws.:cheers

Here is the source Poms, Bungy discovered my secret font of knowledge!:D
