Rob Gronkowski

1.98m 122kg

He was an absolute beast but did struggle with injuries at times

On top of being a dominant player on field he was loaded with personality also

he was my favourite

its hard wathing them without him but i still do

great start to the year

Yeah same
I was worried how they'd go without him, but so far they are going okay, hopefully get injuries and O-line sorted before we get out of the easy start to the season

Would have been awesome if AB had been smarter (big ask) and stuck around

Yea this time of year (post NRL & AFL Grand Finals/pre cricket season) is usually about the motor sport for me + whatever else random sport is on. darts, golf, basketball whatever haha
I prefer the Bathurst 12 Hour GT race (on in Jan/Feb) but don't mind having the Super Taxi 1000 on the tele in Oct all the same if I am around the house at the time. Holden vs. Ford is kinda getting irrelevant though. More like GM vs. Mustang haha

I'll watch the Moto GP & F1 seasons finish up it's last bunch of races even though Márquez & Hamilton have the WC's in the bag respectively.

For now I'm watching the Union World cup on and off, it's been an entertaining tournament with a few surprises thrown in and an epic host nation/crowds. It ****s all over international Rugby League in every single way.

Nov through Jan is all about the cricket, Test cricket that is not the snooze fest circus limited overs cricket has become although I still end up watching half a match here and there and can get into a rare tight contest. I'll catch parts of some A League games as well.

Dec/Jan is about Xmas and taking time off work. chilling the **** out while putting the feat up, catching up with friends and family, getting some things done around the house if I can be bothered and maybe going away on holiday somewhere as long as beaches are there. it really is the best time of year.

come January i'll also get into the Aus Open Tennis

Up until last year I was a regular at the Bathurst 1000 for 23 years (my first year was 1995 when I was 7), when my brother’s team started racing at the 12 hour 5 years ago I started going there as well and fell in love with the event. With the birth of my daughter I’ve had to pick one event to go to due to money and time. I picked the 12 hour, it’s just 100 times better.

I’ve started falling out of interest with the V8’s. I still watch them but not as much as I used to, it just isn’t the same anymore.

there was an epic 12 hr race about 3 years back with a 458 Ferrari & a Skyline GTR neck and neck until the final lap until one of them wrecked/had a failure. I think the winner was a Japanese driver.
been a fan of the series since. GT is one of the best categories IMO. The cars look awesome and the racing is tight and loose at the same time if you know what I mean. You get cars fighting for position, not a
procession and it's far less predictable than other non-enduro races

sounds like you enjoy your aussie motorsport, if you have time check out the upcoming S5000 open wheel V8 Championship. it could be a winner. former F1 driver Rubens Barrichello was racing at Sandow last month as part of it's introduction

I remember. Craig Lowndes was driving the Ferrari I’m pretty sure.

I do like a bit of F1, but mostly just NFL in the NRL off season.

I blame the Commodore64 and TV Sports:Football.... That was back in 1988, so naturally I follow the 49ers. They were impossible to beat!

I grew up idolising Peter Brock, so I was a mad Holden fan. Not as into it as I once was however. I was a fan of Lowndes, Russell Ingall and Greg Murphy. I liked Mark Skaife until I actually met him and realised he was a knob.

Ah ok, best you not watch this year, it's all Ford.

Supercars however have made a few parity adjustments after Holden sandbagged alot of the year to bring them back into it.

don't follow the Supercars. never really got into it much beyond watching some bathurst 1000 and parts of the odd race. I could barely name more than a few modern drivers or teams

in F1 i go for Danny Ric the smiling assassin and divebomb specialist (even though he is in a ****box Renault now after leaving Redbull and has no chance of a podium) but I also like Bottas from Merc and many of the mid-field drivers who have a crack like Sainz and Albon. F1 is great for the memes and salty radio chatter and occasionally puts on a good race

Moto GP I support RINNS from Suzuki but really rate new comer QUARTARARO on the Yamaha. MARQUEZ on the Honda is just unbelievably good and consistent.

I know. Ford were smarter and Holden are paying for it.

The nicest driver I’ve met in Australian racing apart from Lowndes would be Marcus Marshall who drove for my brothers team in the 12 hour. Used to drive V8’s in the early 2000’s. Absolute gem of a guy.

You got Netflix?

Watch a series called Formula 1 Drive to Survive. Its a great insight into the series and what the drives go through. Really enjoyed it.

Reckon Ric will stay worth Renault or move on? and who to?

Yeah with Penske in the game Holden just cannot keep up. Supercars are thinking abaout scaling the series back (making them slower) so it's an even plaguing field.

Didnt bother them when 888 were dominating year after year though.

Your brother had my dream job then!

I've heard of that series and good things too

Rumours were that Merc were chasing Danny to replace Bottas but Bottas just got resigned for another season (rightly so too). Ferrari are looking at him I believe with Vettel on shaky ground but I don't think it happens. I would love to see Danny in a Ferrari or Merc **** me he could carve but he is getting huge money on that Renault contract and seems happy there, willing to stay true to his word to stick it out and help develop the car and team. after getting treated kinda ****ty at Red Bull once it become apparent Verstappen was the No 1 and the teams future he honestly looks more relaxed now despite not being in a competitive team anymore and still having all sorts of bad luck with grid penalties and mechanical issues.

I think it's a massive shame though. He is a massively talented driver capable of a World Championship IMO but he needs a number one seat at a Top 3 team to have a chance same as anyone else. I hope he finds that chance soon in the next few years before he gets too far into his 30's and it starts getting potentially beyond him. There are just so many talented up coming young drivers that teams are preferencing now preparing for the next generation. Le Clerc could be unstoppable within a few seasons and Hamilton won't be there forever.

Thought with Andretti entering the game it might even itself up, but it didn’t really, although Penske wasn’t too crash got in his first year down here.
