It'd be good if they did that for trial matches.

Maybe have a pre-season knock out comp set up like a festival. Twenty minute halves. All 16 teams play.

Move it around to the bigger country towns each year. Have all sorts of other entertainment as well.

This may be slightly different to the idea of an NRL All star weekend but....

Does anyone think that the 'Magic Weekend' that the super league have could work here.

For those who haven't heard of it, they play all the games of that round in one city.

Personally I think it would be a great idea with a few changes.

Imagine buying a 'festival like' ticket over two days and you get entry to all round games over two days. You could even have other activities there like some live bands, development programs for kids, player signing tents etc.

I'd imagine there would be a lot of organising but I think it would be a good weekend.

P.S If this takes off you heard it here first...

Not a bad idea in theory but where would you hold it?

I would actually like to see more double headers. Sharks v Saints and Souths v Easts at the SFS, something like that.

wasnt there talk last year that they would have a big triple header up here in Brisbane with all 3 brisbane teams and 2 double headers down there with big rivalry rounds?

As good as it will be, there is no way a few clubs, including Sharks, could affort to split the gate takings 4 ways, they wouldnt cover all the weekly costs involved in running a club.

But there is nothing better that double headers so the NRL need to jump in and offer some sort of compensation for teams to do it.

Not a bad idea... I may just let you buy in as a partner

I guess it'd move locations every year like the superleague. Sydney one year, then Melbourne, then Brisbane.

Yeah surely there must be some way for the NRL to help out. I'd imagine that whomever runs the Super League version would help them out too..

Just grab a cushion. I have one that has a sharks logo on it. It's this square padded thing. Have no idea what it's for. Can only imagine you take it along to the game with you and wack it on your seat on the ground before you sit down.

The 2 home teams split the gate. If you got 35k people it works. Don't see why the 2 away teams should get a share, they don't for other away games. Could make it an annual event alternating the home teams.

With the right teams and time it would smash 35k

"Since its first event*-*an NRL double header which attracted 104,583 fans -*more than 15 million*fans have attended*events at*ANZ Stadium."

It would be good in round 1, when the weather is good and everyone is hanging out to see footy.

It would be the perfect opportunity to plan a weekend away. Change the city every year. You could take it to Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast, Brisbane and even hold it in Sydney. Would be a bit of a boost to a local economy. Not sure whether it would gain widespread support, but it would be fun.
