This is the first ever thread that I have started, however this thread needs to happen.

Thirteen in a row with 5 players out for SOO. In all likelihood anything up to 18 in a row is in the offing. Barring injury, the only thing that stands between this side and premiership glory is bad luck and the Broncos, Cows or Storm playing above their usual standard on game day.

I say premiership. There is nothing wrong with thinking that the team is superior to all others this year and I want to get in first and say I think it is going to happen.

I'm just enjoying the ride.

While it does look good from here on in, still need to tread with caution.

There comes a point where we have to draw a line in the sand and cut the "don't jinx it" chat and embrace the title of being the competition's best.

There's not a team we've played we've not beaten.

I'm also a huge believer in there being a massive difference between confidence and arrogance... Those boys today were every bit confident without showing a sign of arrogance.

There's no reason we can't go all the way, we've showed that the last twelve weeks and again today.

I know we'll win it this year but I'm trying to work on the self doubt because I really need a nice surprise.

I'm cool to call it nothing but confidence, cause we have had No success which can breed arrogance... Whilst it is up to the players to train hard and stay level headed it's us fans that can dream big, spend the next 8 weeks worrying about what's around the corner, embrace and enjoy the ride, God knows plenty of good people and shark fans have been taken to soon and are not here to enjoy this rich vein of form and warm fuzzy feeling.

I got the premiership tattoo after we beat the storm
This thread is about going out on a limb and saying we are number one. I'm not getting any tattoos irrespective of who wins the grand final, before or after the event.

Nah, still got scars from being burnt by this team to talk premiership. I'm enjoying the ride of this season, but I'm a bit superstitious when it comes to this and I still think the jinx can happen. I'm excited about our chances, but not to the point where I'm arrogantly beating my chest and telling people "this is our year", cause it can still go pear shaped. The fact is, Melbourne still have a legitimate claim to still being the best, despite our competition lead. I'm feeling great after today though.

Me too. I've been thinking what week of September/October I'll be crying my eyes out this year. Bit different to knowing that Round 26 is the last game.

I see your point but whether we say "this is the year" etc has no effect on what happens on the field. I get the superstition but we've just got to cross our fingers. I don't like showboating because I know that people will give it back if it doesn't happen. Better to stay on the down low and enjoy it if it does happen. I remember telling everyone that if the Sharks came 4th last year, it just seemed like destiny that they'd win the title.

I'm usually very conservative with my premiership talk, however today's victory has shown me there is more than just belief in this side. There is confidence, and a never say die attitude.

Of course we can do it, but there is still a long way to go. If we finish top 2 I reckon we can win it.
I have bought my grand final tickets so here's hoping there'll be a sea of black, white and blue on Grand Final day.

Is there some kind of therapy for us old timers after we win the cup? I'm not sure how I'll take it.

I haven't seriously thought about getting my tickets. Part of me wants to wait and see if we make it but I know waiting till then is risky. I'm pretty sure they release areas for fans but chances of getting them are slim. Maybe members get first crack. I've been to grand finals before. I think I'm just tempted I'll risk fate.
