I've been using Kayo for the last couple of months, and gotta ask, is it glitchy as hell?

I'm using it on Google Chromecast and it's constant dropouts, hardly ever live.

Especially with pre game, I'll be watching a pre game live, it crashes, go back in and it's 6mins into the game

Mine's pretty much perfect, I don't use chromecast though.

I'd say up until recently mine has been consistently good, only a couple of times had serious issues. Recently has been a bit more glitchy, a few weeks back I think maybe I'd have said glitchy as hell but think it has been better again since then.

Regarding your last point sometimes when you open a page for a stream it will only given you option to watch from beginning if the stream has only been going a few minutes. Not sure why it does that, I'd think as soon as stream starts it should have watch from live option also.
You need to check and make sure when it opens that it actually is live. I've been burned by that a couple of times.

Can you clear a cache on the chrome cast in your settings? Might be clogged up

I find the Chromecast struggles with Kayo. I have an NVIDIA pro on another tele and that's perfect. It's to the point where I'm buying another NVIDIA tonight so I can watch in both rooms

I would assume the electrician option cost a lot more?
Have a mate who uses a wifi extender and he was happy with it. Feel like you could buy it, set it up and if it wasn't doing what you wanted just take it back?

A cabled connection is always better but would be more expensive for just the materials alone so I’d try the wifi extender and test it out.

I’ve got a wifi extender and for the most part its good, a connection issue here and there but not enough for it to be a massive issue.

For online game though, a cable is always going to be better then wifi, but depending on the location of your young fellas PC or console to your modem it could be a pain in the arse. Maybe look at Power line adapters, these basically turn the electrical wiring of your house into network cables. Plug one into a wall socket near your modem and club a Ethernet cable into it, then plug the other into a wall socket next to your young fellas computer and run a cable from it to the computer/console. If your electrical wiring in your house is generally in ok nick, he should see a noticeable difference as opposed to wifi.

Downside is that these usually go for anywhere between $100 to $250.

Not saying its the best solution because I don’t know enough about this to say that categorically, maybe someone with more knowledge can confirm or deny it, but from what I know, its a very good solution.

Even better, get a decent mesh system. They're a bit more expensive, but you'll get really fast wifi everywhere in the house that's just about as good as a hardwired point. Some extenders don't have great speed, especially the more affordable ones, so you're kid is still going to get p0wned on Fortnite.
I'd spend about $250 on a mesh system. It's a bit to invest, but you shouldn't have any issues anywhere in the house again.
