Didn't know I had to be born in the shire to support the Sharks. **** off ya useless ****.

Born and bred in queensland. My local team were named the sharks and I started supporting Cronulla ever since then. Got a problem with that you prick.

Queensland in that first 33 minutes just seemed to do every twice as fast. Their line speed in defence kept NSW deep in their half and their big boppers were roling through the middle with ease. NSW in essence lost the ruck. At 24-0 down the game was effectively over before NSW became expansive and utilised their superior mobility. The 2nd half NSW (as Gus said) became overwhelmed by the score board and cracked under pressure.

I wanted NSW to win but I'm happy for Mal that he answered the critics (Rothfield) particularly when he delivered the half time speech. Have had a soft spot for him since the days he ran for politcal office.

I'm with you on this one as an Australian Capital Territorian.

Good to see you queenslanders are gracious in a win...I am happy for a win to see locky go out a winner. As for trying to rub it in our faces because we lost oh well. Who gives a ****. I wil use a quote that was widely and often used after NSW' 3 straight series wins, "Origin is dead" who gives a ****. That win for QLD tonight done more bad for league than it did good in the last 10 years. I for one who has been an avid and very patriotic NSW fan for all my life can say i couldn't give a flying **** about origin anymore. Well done Qld and well done Lockyer.

Déjà vu: Experience of feeling sure that one has already witnessed or experienced a current situation

Dàzà vu: Watching Lockyer hold up the SOO shield

very dissapointing but we made about 3 mistakes and qld didn't give us a snif for about 25mins after that. Too classy. Thaiday was at it again but we had them in headlocks most of the night so it all evened out. I don't know what you were talking about snow but I thought gidley was one of the best on ground for us and was the only one making metres.

I did find it amusing the people in the crowd trying to count to 6 when the camera was on them.

Legal threats over Mal's bizarre rant

NRL match review committee boss Greg McCallum will explore legal options after Queensland coach Mal Meninga launched an extraordinary attack on NSW, claiming his Maroons side's victory was against the "rats and filth" from Sydney.

Although he didn't name names, Meninga was aiming his vitriol at the NSW media, Blues' coaching staff, NSWRL officials, NRL match review committee - who cited Johnathan Thurston - and NRL judiciary, who suspended Dave Taylor.

In his column in Brisbane's Sunday Mail, Meninga wrote: "What the Maroons achieved on Wednesday night was about more than a sixth straight series win, or a fitting farewell for a champion in our captain Darren Lockyer.

"It was a victory against the very rats and filth that tried to poison a monumental team with lies, personal attacks, arrogance and disrespect. But rather than be a cause for celebration, the Queensland team this year found itself the victim of a smear campaign so malicious and orchestrated that it tainted the entire code of rugby league.

"And it came from the enemy within the game itself. They are the faceless men of influence who claim their agenda is to benefit the game. Really, their only agenda is to benefit themselves. They are the ones that drag the spotlight off the game on the field and on to the judiciary with the citing of Johnathan Thurston and who found five weeks worth of difference in the identical tackles of David Taylor and Akuila Uate."

McCallum was upset last night, saying: "I have had reports of something (from Meninga) being written. I will be taking it up with the NRL, ARL and my legal advisers."

Meninga even appeared to have a shot at his former Canberra and Australia teammate, Ricky Stuart, the NSW coach.

"I know the people who are behind it," Meninga wrote.

"I know their personal agendas. Some I had considered friends, I know I'll never forget what they did.

"They are the rats who, rather than celebrating a remarkable football team, tried to drown it with a flood of lies, half-truths and propaganda."

ARL chief executive Geoff Carr said his organisation would not take any action against Meninga.

Had Meninga, though, made the comments in the NRL, he would have been heavily fined.

"To assume there is a giant conspiracy in NSW involved in bringing down Queensland is just weird," Carr said.

"I am at a loss to think that Mal would think that NSW would be sitting around a big table at the judiciary plotting to bring them down."

Meninga was known to be particularly angry at the Sydney media and the NRL judiciary's decision to suspend Taylor for five matches for a dangerous throw.
