I love how he built his game tonight. Started with strong carries requiring 3 defenders. Once he had them on high alert & sucked in he brought out the pass for others to work with the space he created.

Imagine being the poor Hunt trying to stop Talakei grounding the ball for that try last night

He was bloody impressive last night, got his chance to start and took it with both hands. He’s definitely given Fitz something to think about when Nikora and Graham come back.

Sure he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I don’t mind Kempys takes on Bloke in a Bar, good player insight*

He said he reckons Talakai would be a top 10 forward in the NRL if he played with consistency. Seems real ambitious but that game every week from him would be insane.
Easier said than done of course.

*main issue is he’s not critical enough but I can understand why given he wants to keep a good relationship with players for his podcast

Well Kemp wants Turbo to play centre for Manly so I don't really think he's the biggest brain around.

Talakai with ball in hand is as good as anyone, but he doesn't have the workrate or do the 1%er sort of things that Wilton does. He's not the sort of guy to pressure kickers or lead a chase or rush up in defense. I'm happy enough with Talakai's improvement without going overboard.

Does he? Haven’t heard him say that
Thought it was just Kent who said that

Definitely a big call
Vs Wilton I guess it depends what you want, Teig could stand out in work rate but plenty of the most dangerous forwards don’t have big work rates (Kikau, DFifita)

Good reason not to do it.
