I think we'll target Papenhausen
Melbourne have Fa'algo tied up
We can’t afford him unless we offload some players, or don’t sign some coming off contract.

Can’t see us going for any fullback as much of a “missing piece “ it might be

I would like Cobbo but has he been tested at fullback ? He seems to go in and out of games abit
Yeah big body and as I said would have to keep motivated. I’ve seen some games where he looks disinterested. Only played a few games at fullback.

I definitely like Paps but he’s too injury prone.
He has really come into form the last few weeks. Looked busted throughout the year.

A few lower leg injuries and thought he would drop pace but still looks quick.

How long his body holds up is the big question.

Not sure if Papy will ever get past the injuries but he's good when he plays. Isn't quite as quick as he once was but still quick enough, and more importantly he's quick between the ears - a very smart, skilful player who combines with the spine well.

I'd take him if we could get him on a small injury discount.

The club know they need 1 more marquee player - and Papenhausens name was the one quoted to me by the Chairman - but they need to get rid of BHU first
I agree we need that, and at the beginning of the year I'd have been all over paps but he's shown he's lost his explosive pace this year. I think he could be a real busy of a big money signing unfortunately.

Yep. Had anyone here heard of Kini a year or 2 ago? Bet not.
Yeh I feel that Fitz will be mainly relying on developing players from within.

To go to the market to get an upgrade on Kennedy, you will be looking at what - 700k+?

Atko, Dykes, Ison (front runner) - we already have a few potential options.

I don't think Kennedy is a priority that needs to be immediately replaced. Need to get more out of Tricky/Hynes combo, BHU etc first.

Work on that and in the meantime other players can start putting pressure on demanding selection (just like Iro did)

Similar to BHU ?

BHU is an expensive bust at the moment

I think we will struggle to win a trophy with Kennedy at the back.. just IMO

It’s a very very important piece… I couldn’t tell you the last time a team with the same level fullback as WK won a comp

Luke Patten maybe for dogs in 2004? He was a good player but didn't have that x factor about him.

Did you see the Roosters game?
He literally burst through the line and fed the ball to Howarth for his try.

Maybe - but I don't think we can afford to be like Melb and put all our money into the spine

We rely on an overall well balanced side.

Spend another 3 or 400k on a fullback and who can we afford to lose?

This is why having a good juniors pathway is important. Cheaper talented juniors mixed with veterans and a couple of marquee players means you stay under the cap.

If the club can replace Kennedy with a talented junior, we don’t spend to upgrade on Kennedy

Hopefully Trindall doesn’t become too expensive, because that will throw out the expenditures with AFB and Nicho already absorbing so much. This is why it is so critical Nicho returns to form.
