Get Lewy and ramien in that side (and eventually katoa, that game was screaming out for a player like him) and I still have faith.

The good signs were really good. Just a shame the bad stuff is awful.

I still have faith too because it's not a new thing for us to start a season poorly and then come good

The problem last year was once we came good it didn't last long enough

I also think we are all guilty of over analysing games - it's a simple game and there are only so many plays in attack you can run but granted there is alot of scope for improvement all round in this regard but it deserves a chance to foster

We hold the ball and make our tackles we win that game and I don't think then as many are obsessing as much over the phantom points we didn't score or the ****en breeze

Thats a fair comment. May be partially true however I call it as I see it.
Ive always said he's as tough and whole hearted as they come and has been a great forward.
But I also believe he's not a smart player and his passion causes him to do dumb selfish things on the field and overplay his hand.
Even Gallen himself in a recent interview said that his passion is sometimes a bad thing for him.

Fair call but I think he's controlled that part of his game over the past two years or so for the most part.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the quick tap. I didn't have an issue with it being into the wind and trying to get some momentum going.

The weird thing is if matty prior or matty moylan didn't have dix for fingers we'd have won 28-20 with two tries under the posts.

This is the sticking point for me, last year. We were very ordinary for most of it and there are no signs of that changing this year.

We have had success down the left with Wade & Feki but more often when we had Barba chiming in

I agree we should explore right more but honestly last night I don't think the halves wanted grey or holmes touching the ball too much and on their performances that was probably fair

When you look at recent premiers I think it's fair to say we're not in the same class (or shape) as teams Like Melbourne or the Cows.

Would it be too dramatic to suggest our team and coach are following the same path as Souths? It's early in the season and I'll always love Flanno for delivering us our first premiership, but is he a bit like Maguire in that he only knows how to coach the one way?

Or is it all squarely on the shoulders of the players? The coach isn't the one dropping the pill. That's pretty basic stuff.

Yea Flanno is a bit stuck in his ways but does try to introduce some new plays on occasion - his game plan can work if the players stop ****ing up, we have the talent to compensate somewhat for the notions of being behind other teams

Whens Lewis back?
Think Flanno said another 3-4 weeks

I would think Flanno would be more about the attitude and defensive mindsets of the team.

Isn't it Dymock and perhaps J-Mo who handle the attack side?

Stationary tackle bags arn't working, they need to put those things on roller skates and strap some rockets to them

We need more grunt with Lewis & Uele & I'd bring in Jessie for Gray, and see how Val is doing when Katia comes back if still kicking stones I'd swap them.

I think Boogs has filled the void pretty well tbh.

Ok so seeing that game last night, I was disgraced with that 2nd half last night, the players purely have themselves to blame for that loss & I hope they realise its purely on them. I think they have every right to apologise to the fans haha. Our defence this year has been a bit iffy compared to the past. Letting the teams basically get over 60 every set because we stay on our line & our wing defence stay even further back. Whats happened to the days where we use to rush up & let them only get barely 30 a set?

On the other hand though, when we had Maloney in 2016 we lose quite a few of the first 8 & took us a while to get our combos up so it is only very early on in the season. It will take Moylan & Dugan a bit to get going & we still have Lewis to come back. The season is not over by a long way. 2016 was Maloneys first year with us & we ended up winning that season, thats a positive in the long run. Still working out whether its best to have Dugan or Holmes at fullback aswell obviously.

Some of these lines jason is running are reminiscent of our great injured Pro and his defense has been on song

He will never have Luke's ball playing and game smarts but Loots doesn't have Ettingshausen's silky feet either

The new Poly Lewy shall rise up

We still rush up - it's called being offside ;)

We ****ed it in the 2nd half. Mistake after mistake. For me the most concern is the missed tackles, thats a team thing. Our defence was always a strength.

On the flipside that first half was sensational. Chad Moylan Bukuya Dugan Gallen all looked good. Chad making some good choices and i liked how he hung off Gals hip. We bring that first half form and it doesnt matter who we play - we win.

Next week we should get rid of Grey though. Did the ball even get past him once to the wing?

We arn;t making our tackles, its a trend carrying over from last year

At half time we had alot more missed tackles than Dragons despite us having to make far less overall tackles and dominating possession - that's a read flag there

Haha I see your point but there is still a difference in waiting till the proper release time & moving up or waiting back fully till they (the opposition) make it where we were before in the previous tackle. Years ago I remember we use to rush up as soon as they could & prevent them from making any metres as possible.

From what I recall our first half in both rnd 1 and rnd 2 involved us pushing up through the line in defense but our second half's in those same games we were sitting back only with a sole aggressive defender rushing out of the line to put a hit on

it's not a coincidence
