Benny Barba would have picked him up and dumped him back on his ass - oh wait that was a different St George forward
Ah yeah ok, I agree he totally got away with it and is very lucky.
I'm not saying Dugan and Moylan didn't stuff up, they did. But they looked promising when they had the ball and were in the game and having a crack. I'm not bashing on Holmes in this example but purely as an example, Holmes, had he been playing fullback in that game, would have gone missing. Dugan injected himself in the game trying to make something happen, and so he should. Holmes doesn't do that, he brings the ball back for us but ever so rarely would you see him get involved anywhere else.
And Moylan in my eyes looked not that bad for being in a new team in a new position. I really think he can turn into a great 5/8 if we give him the space and and remove any structure we have asked of him in his game.
I don't disagree with any of that. I was originally responding to some posts about bench strategy and some other comments about the game plan etc. and how "the whole team showed poor handling and a lack of discipline". I was pointing out that it wasn't the whole team and that none of the game plan stuff matters when you compete 1 set in a half of football.
I don't have an issue with Dugan missing that tackle. What I do have an issue with is people like you would bag the **** out of Val if he missed it.
Yep defensively he is sound, but the one on Aitken was pretty bad.
Watch aitken week in week out though. He scores those tries a lot. And against anyone
Watched the Dugan miss tackle replay again - actually he wasn't that caught out positionally from the deflection or even unbalanced, he had time to get there but the tackle needed to be low and a pearler.
