Speaking of pods the Bloke in a Bar one with Hunt dropped the other day and I enjoyed that

Good hearing about the boys reactions when he found out his missus was in labour while in Covid bubble

I still like Sharkcast, long episodes don't bother me at all. I must admit though I haven't listened to it lately, been too busy listening to my other podcast on the history of that little island just off the coast of France. I'll get back to it when the season is close to starting.

A girl friend (important space there) told me a story about how she went out with a guy who she was about to be intimate with... When it got to the critical moment and she saw the behemoth she was dealing with, she actually said " you're not putting that thing in me!"

Thought everyone would appreciate hearing that.
It was a bit embarrassing at the time but I'm sort of used to it by now.

I really don't like sped up content. If you need to speed it up to get though it, that's a sign it's too long 🙂 But yep, each to their own.

It was good. He comes across reasonably intelligent and articulate.
Also a bit too talented. One of those 'i tried really hard when I had to' types. Confirmed for me got we were all feeling I think

Yeah very much a bloke who sees it as just a job

When he’s enjoying the job or otherwise motivated too he’ll put in the extra.
When it’s hard or dull it reverts back to just being labour in his mind. (Is my impression)

Certainly not alone in the NRL in that regard

Also instead of the bloke who makes all the rep sides through juniors being bigger than everyone else then gets found out at higher senior levels, Hunt has stayed big enough his size is still NRL relevant and has enough mobility to go with it. Talks so boastfully about the one time he trained really hard because coach insulted him like training hard was considered an exception to him not the norm.

Not having a crack - I’d have still kept him, but there is potential for some much better consistency at a very high level if he can stay switched on

Going to the right club then
As much as it's not ideal to say this, it will be up to them how well he plays, not up to him.
If they are going well and have him enjoying it he'll dig in, if they are struggling and he thinks he's just 'at work' he just might not be the guy who tries to step up to turn things around and happy just to 'do his part'.

After hearing that poddy I don't know how you could motivate him long term to make him worth keeping. How many times can you tell him he's **** and will get dumped if he doesn't put in the work? Even he said he got sick of hearing it after a while and wanted to quit or move on.
I was disappointed he had to go but Fitz's made the right call
