If you liked that one, you really should watch this one posted by Brick Tamlin on Thursday.

😉

Interview with Dino:
  • Latest handover date from builder to Sharks for the Leagues Club shell is 15 August
  • If that date sticks, then the club won't be open till late 2025
  • Reduced capacity in the ground again in 2025
  • Sharks part (minority) owners of the Golden Bay restraunt
  • 600 seats in top tier and 500 seats in the middle tier of peter burns that can't be used atm

Enjoying the new podcast the ET Stand, they do seem to ramble on with all the historical results. But still a decent podcast.

I think SharkCast is a bit over positive lol they remind me of the social media, like just because a player has a few good games they treat him like an immortal. Just calm down mate.

Agree with you. I used to love Sharkcast but I get the feeling they're too close to the club now. It has it's advantages, they seem to get good access to players. On the flipside I feel as though they're way too positive too often.

Each to their own I guess. I'd say they lean on the positive side, but it's not issue to me. I think it also allows them to be more balanced in their takes. The world is never ending there, which is appropriate given our season/position.

The other two will go way too far off the boil with agendas with a player. One of the guys on the ET stand still doesn't rate Williams and another has been banging the Sifa to centre drum consistently. I think Sam is more open to admit he's not sure what caused a problem, which might come off as positive where Dan/Terry will blame a player/say they suck, and often will be wrong. E.g. Ronaldo should stay on his wing.

I'd have the same criticism of the ET stand as I did with SC that they seem to drag on with repetitive content. I think this is due to the mail or reading comments live etc. SC seem to have improved that this year with more structure to what they put out.

That said, I tune into all 3. Will just still put SC on first if all available.

I love the podcasts. Makes my driving to and from work a little more bearable.

I understand the talk about Sharkcast being too positive but like @Proud Shark I can put up with that. There are reasons why they do this and getting the player interviews they do cancels it out I reckon. I got to meet Sam and Gary Dover at the Souths game and they couldn't have been nicer considering some random guy has come up to them to say hello.

If you want in-your-face podcasting then you can't go past Dan and Terry. Yeah they go off their brain but it can be pretty entertaining at times.

I'm slowly getting used to the ET Stand one, my biggest criticism of it is there are just too many hosts and they tend to talk over the top of each other at some stages so you just cannot understand what has been said. They have some close ties to the club as well so they also tend to be a bit positive. Even when they seriously want to have a go at a certain player or the coach they still tone it down a bit.

I also enjoy all 3. You will never find a podcast which caters for everyone.

They are all different but have the most important theme which is the mighty Sharks.

I'm often watching the Sharks at home on my home (kids aren't really into the footy). Apart from messaging a few mates and this forum, I like listening to the live ET show on YouTube after the game to hear them celebrate (or vent frustrations) after the game.

That’s one thing I’ve never been able to figure out. How do you know when they start the live after game show?

If you subscribe to their YouTube channel, it pops up several hours earlier and you can click on Notify which will let you know when it's starting.

It's live on social media too. They usually have info on the link. E.g. On Sunday it said starts after the Matty Johns show.

Was listening to ET Stand this morning and my goodness they really went deep into the golden point history of the club. It was so tedious.

I like Boldo, I think that's who I'm thinking of, he brings energy.

Fins Up is legit the most entertaining and I enjoy it. They know they carry on and it's just part of the show.

Sam is a lovely guy, just kind of got over the whole the "this guy is the best player cause he played 15 mins of good footy". He really rambled on in the post match show aswell at the end, took him 15mins to say goodbye lol

Haha yeah, either last year or the year before he was going on about how our attack was so good it was going to revolutionise the game. I do like his enthusiasm, he obviously loves the Sharks.

You could tell he wasn't a fan of Moylan being dropped, if that was last year or the year before.

There was always this sense that he had to defend Moylan against the critics.

Now Atko is his golden boy.

Each to their own. I often won't listen to it after a bad performance as the extra carry-on is coming. Definitely agree Sam can ramble a bit though haha, particularly when he's trying to fill air time going solo such as before his interview podcasts.

I like Sam, I reckon he'd be a great bloke to have a beer with. Just a bit over the top with the positivety sometimes and that's OK.
