Yeah it’s crazy they got away with it so long, when you think of the amount of lives and families it destroys
Like drinking it’s a vice some can enjoy and others can’t control

Some might try add smoking into that list although I’m not sure many people indulge in smoking but to an extent that isn’t harmful

Yeah agree with the premise of your point, but the impacts of gambling are greater I think, as a bloke can literally piss away his whole families savings due to the addiction, without them even knowing about it.

And it is often mixed with alcohol, or other forms of drugs too. The fact it’s advertised as often as it is the main problem I have with it, point in case @HaroldBishop son listening to the radio on a Saturday shouldn’t be exposed to it

What kind of world do we live in when to place an advertisement about a product, you also need a warning (in the same ad) informing you that the product is harmful?

Yeah for sure
Or can drink drive into some people and kill them
They all have their dire, grim repercussions if not done in moderation

I guess the drink driving but is an extra crime on top rather than just legally gambling everything away though

It’s really something that doesn’t need to be advertised. Anyone who wants to gamble can find out how themselves easily enough

You should go to California there are warnings when you walk into restaurants about everything it's crazy and the tv ads for like Panadol comes with warnings about misuse

Yeah, the warnings in US drug advertising are crazy. A minute long while the happy family plays in the background

On the Leagues Club front, in updating members we can report that tenders for the build closed on Thursday, October 31, with the Club now in receipt of builder pricing and methodology. Over the next fortnight the tenders will be reviewed in detail and then the Club can ascertain which of the three builders will be engaged for the build, with a view to enter contracts before Christmas.

Whilst this part of the process is well and truly on track, the other critical path involves the developer providing access to the Club lot, allowing us to commence with the build. We still have some detail to work through, but are hopeful that this is imminent.

The entire process has been painfully long and drawn out however it is also a very complicated agreement and there have been many issues to work through. We thank you for the patience and assure you we are focused on achieving the desired outcomes for you our valued members in getting our Leagues Club built.

In the Commercial space, Kylie Lucas and her team are working hard to attract suitable corporate partners for the remaining sponsor properties. Included in the sponsor opportunities available are for the Stadium naming rights, following the changes to the gaming advertising laws which prevent PointsBet from continuing as our stadium partner. Negotiations are ongoing with a number of interested parties, with nothing as yet confirmed or finalised, so any businesses wanting to express an interest, please contact Kylie or a member of our commercial staff.

builder pricing a methodology hey.
at least that's something
I'm sure they will like to have selected the builder by Christmas for site establishment end of Jan (for construction to start in Feb).

In will be an initial slow slog with fit out until they get in the groove of logistics, deliveries etc.

I’m hoping they do a staged delivery and aim to complete the main areas and then work on the other areas like corporate offices etc later

It looks like the majority of the Stage 4 apartments were handed over a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully now the developer/builder (Novm) will do everything in their power to get the leagues club access finished off and get the hell out of there.
Final settlement normally relies on both parties agreeing on final payments and release of handover documentation etc.

Hopefully they can both agree on move on with their lives...
