I think everyone gets caught up with the excuse of youth for average players in this sharks team.

How many players are fantastic first grade players at 18/19 years of age? Most guys haven't even made first grade by that age.

They have the raw talent but they do need more time develop. To infer that they should be absolutely ripping it up in every facet of the game at this stage of their career is incredibly naive.

Well if ferguson and wright are our best options we should be fixed on the bottom of the ladder for sometime. A grade players.
I am a sharks fan as everyone here is but it's a reality. Sure ferguson has scored some tries but he offers no line break ability or defensive skills nor Wright. Wright has been gifted a first grade jersey from reputation in toyota cup and school footy.

I've seen better in nsw cup adn even budaberg cup.

Dude what game are you watching. Have you seen the last 6 games? Ferguson is a winger, playing superbly. For starters a winger doesnt need to break the line, he needs to finish of a break from our inside backs. Anyway ferguson CAN break the line, CAN finish, and has speed to burn. He also is very reliable in defence and great under the high ball. Sorry but i dont agree with you whatsoever on that.

And with Wright, he has done nothing wrong, but has done little to add to the team. Hes been solid though, and hasnt been a liability to the team at all. He is playing well above his weight and doing well. We do need a strong experienced centre but for now he is doing just fine.

Ur joking right. Fergo is proving to be our most dangerous and reliable winger in ages!. Wright maybe, hes still raw but is coping really well. We definently need an experienced centre in the team. But there isnt much on the market, Ropati is pobably the best if hes even available. But its important to have 3 really good props, because if your forwards are controling as Roosters controled us, your backs will have a party on the field.

Totally agree, 2 GOOD props is not enough and at the moment that is all we have Douggie and Snowden (the rest aren't ready)

We are going to get smashed next year if they don't get another quality prop, at the moment one injury to a prop next season spells curtains!!!

Fergo is doing a great job for us. He makes some mistakes, but he's been excellent since moving to the wing.

Wright has done as good or better than anyone else to play on that side in the last 8 years. Remember that even Vagana was a dud for the Sharks playing on the right - we've been sending all of our attack down the left side since the Dykes-Campbell halves combination was lost in 2002.

Just out of interest I have just read the stat's for the Sharks -v- Cowboys match 4/7/09.

............DEFENSE.................HITUPS...............METRES
..........Williams 45...............Stapo 22..........Douglas 169m
..........Douglas 45...............Tronc 19.............Stapo 163m
........Snowden 35.............Douglas 18.............Tronc 146m
............Tronc 34.................Scott...16..........Tonga 123m

Bearing in mind this is the first game I really have compared the stat's but on face value Tronc certainly matches our boys as far as the numbers go.
Just throwing it out there.......
