I'd prefer to sign Matt Scott over Tronc. But that's my opnion. Reports here are that he's being shopped around too, would rather see the club throw a buck or two at him.

Agree with you there mate.... was going to say the same thing... i'd go after Matt Scott....

Sorry Dier.... i just find Shane Tronc boring... he is Martin Lang in slow motion!!! No one will ever be another Martin Lang - he was one of a kind!!

Yeah I think he's too slow as well, don't get me wrong, he'd be handy but Matt Scott would be better. He's probably more in the Marty Lang mould.

Yer I think everyone has forgotten how good Martin Lang type props are, One direction and thats forwards and even when He hits the line still goes forwards!!!

Martin Lang style props are great, but Tronc isn't one. Lang was fast, hit the line at speed and if he didn't break through he could bounce up for a quick-ish play the ball. Tronc rolls up to the line, hits, struggles and maybe by the time he's fallen he's made a meter or two, but the time it takes the big guy to roll over, stand up and play the ball is just too long for today's game.

I dunno if Tronc will get another NRL gig.

I do agree we need a 3rd prop who can keep up with Dougy and Snowden, supposing Cutherbertson wasn't signed for this role Matt Scott would be worth a look.

I just suggested Tronc because he was getting squeezed out because cowboys are trying to sign Bolton and Scott. He is averaging 25 tackles a game and 130 metres, I believe he would be one of the best options on the market atm. He may also relish after gettin givin a second chance in the NRL.

I hope he doesn't go to the Broncos, they seem to waste their recruits and they're bringing back Tonie 'Tunza Sh*t' Carroll for FFS. They're fu*ked and despearte it seems. A club in fine form on and off the field. Matt Scott for the Sharks!

PS. Yay 100 posts! Time to crack open beer.

I read that Scott is asking the same money as Ben Hannat $350,000 that's big dollars. He thinks he is worth more because he is a fringe origin player.

Dreaming if he thinks he can get that much.

Still developing if you ask me. Could probably do so quicker and better being at a Club with other quality props though. Cowboys should turf Tronc and Webb and keep Scott.

Don't think he is after the same money as Hannant ($350,000).

I think the article actually read he plays in the same vein as Ben Hanant who's contract is $350,000.

There is no way anyone would pay 350, but he must be worth $250???????

If thats whats required to secure his' signature I still think its a good buy, as he is exactly what we need at Cronulla for next season, a dominant forward to lead Snowden and Douggie.

Looks like Troncs on way to UK anyway. If scott's looking for 250 k then we should go for him. But then again were paying what, like 400 for ross so id pay 300 for him i guess.

Yeah after thinking about it, I think given our position he is definately worth $300,000 (if not maybe a tiny bit more) to us as well.

Front rowers always are very expensive, they are only a little under your play makers, not saying Scott is asking or is worth 350k though, for mine I would only pay 200k for him.

I agree with Great White Shark here. We need quality backs.
I think everyone gets caught up with the excuse of youth for average players in this sharks team.

I can handle Stapleton but Wright and Ferguson have very little. Particularly Wright.

I think we could benefit from Bronx Goodwin and believe it or not MISI instead of Wright and Fergo. They perhaps should be the ones spending some time in NSW cup to develop some ability.

Why don't we sign any backs around the 23-25 age range? We recently scabbed some more parra juniors but lets win an NRL comp now not a Toyota cup.

I think you have to look at the bigger picture here mate, you also have to consider the talent that is on the market, and this year this is not a lot of quality.

As said on other posts I would be throwing big money at Hunt myself.

Ur joking right. Fergo is proving to be our most dangerous and reliable winger in ages!. Wright maybe, hes still raw but is coping really well. We definently need an experienced centre in the team. But there isnt much on the market, Ropati is pobably the best if hes even available. But its important to have 3 really good props, because if your forwards are controling as Roosters controled us, your backs will have a party on the field.

i can understand that view directed towards wright but of recent weeks fergie has been doing much much better than how he started the year. definitely deserves to play imo
bronx is hardly going to add anything more than fergo from what ive seen and taulapapa will only add more errors. i wouldnt put either at center so that keeps wright in the team over them.
