Yeh it was good. I'm glad Flanno was just as nervous as I was in the last 90 seconds of the GF!

That so? I thought it might be a medical condition, so was going easy on him. The stupid ****
Even in the last few weeks of the year when we had 1 from 5. Was honest saying he was ****ting himself, but the senior group was just so strong.
What about how he made sure our junior system was set up the best way possible and made sure by the time they hit the first grade coach they knew everything necessary about being a good player/person

Absolutely mate the ground work that was developed whilst he was in charge have us young players today. You can’t fault his work coaching, setting up academy and assembly of a roster to win the comp.
Like he talks about his mistakes and unfortunately we can’t go back and we have moved on now.
Im still a big fan of Flanno and know he ****ed up.
Don't forget our club were a lot to blame in his latest ban. They could have prevented him at the start from sending emails (or at least be smart about it and make sure there was no paper trail etc)
Yep. Could never happen but gee he would have made a good coaching director at the club.
He is still keen to coach so I wouldn't be surprised if he is appointed HC within next 12 months (maybe Canberra the way Stuart is going).
I'm surprised he hasn't found himself a gig somewhere in some capacity. I mean, you can even see Siebold in the coaches box these days!
I'll be interested to see how he goes when/if he gets another HC gig.
The game has probably changed more in the past three years than the previous 15.
He's a canny bugger, I think he'd find a way to work the rules to his advantage. That's what he was always good at, in his own way. Dragging the opposition into a grind perfectly suited the game at the time. I genuinely think that without the Asada stuff, he would have ended up in the top echelon of coaches. Though if Joey John's is anything to go by, Flanno could still find himself a coaching immortal alongside Bellamy and Bennett!
Also says the broncos are trying to play a style that their players can’t do
He said he analysed the players we had and realised he had to change our style to suit them.. what I got from it was the grind wasn’t his thing but he had tough hard guys and had to make a style that suited them. In 16 we still bashed teams to death but we weren’t grinding as much - signing SJ and Moylan and Dugan I would’ve loved to see what his plans were to suit them

This is applicable for coaches at all levels, and the #1 piece of advice I would give to anyone looking to become a junior coach. Figure out how you want to play using the kids you've got, and adjust the positions/roles to match the players' skills rather than shoehorning kids into the cookie-cutter definitions of how each position should play.
I enjoyed the Flano interview a lot. Not just as a Sharks fan. It was a great insight in to the mind of an NRL coach.
So this is perhaps what I should do with the Under 12s soccer side I coach. At the moment we've played 9 games, had 1 win, 1 bye, 1 draw and 6 losses. Nothing wrong with our attack but the defenders keep getting in each other's way and are just not aware of the players around them. It is E grade though so maybe I shouldn't expect too much.
