Great to see another Sorensen playing for the club. Hope the Sharks retain him as well as most of the other local juniors who played tonight. Tonight demonstrates how some players play for their mates and the jersey. Something we have been missing since Chris Anderson took over.

I still think some are getting carried away by the local juniour thing. Yeah sure, it's romantic and all but to me recruiting a kid at 15-16 from somehere else and developing them is just as good.

We should be bringing many more kids through from our (fairly large) junior league than what we do. This area has heaps of kids. I see the value in it. The kids can stay at home near family etc, so you don't get homesickness issues etc that you might get with imports. The junior league pathway seemed to be pretty much cut off when Chris Anderson arrived and hasn't really recovered since. We should be doing much better. That's not to say we shouldn't be importing good youngsters as well, but there is a place for a good strong development pathway from our own junior league, and it hasn't been utilized well in recent history. It seems like there's a bit of a "grass is greener" attitude and a cultural cringe towards our own.

I'd like to see some stats on junior players for each region. I keep hearing our fans saying we have a large base but I hear commentators etc saying we don't.

Waiting for someone to bring that up, he ended up making the tackle but Taumalolo ended making twice as much metres as he should have, in saying that we lost 20m on our set when Robo crapped his pants & let the ball bounce cause he thought he was a chance of knocking on again from the kick off.
