What's that bold **** even mean in relation to us (or anything, really)? Is the digital age somehow more requiring of honesty and integrity?

The rest is moralistic crap. NRL is cut throat and those who push the rules best win. The owner of the company we got in strife for reckons it's 100% compliant and he's been told so by the NRL. It sounds at least as legit as Brisbane's Thoroughbreds. But that doesn't matter, Greenberg said himself he's not concerned about being consistent, so we'll just hope he doesn't get in a bad mood with us I guess. It's a crooked shambles of a competition run by ****wits who chop and change rules, policy and punishment on the whim of the media. I'm fine with having contempt for their rules.

Agree with all of that mate.

I think I’ve said this before but if I wasn’t such a big Sharks fan the game would be lost to me.

Sounds like what he did was legit and problem is 1 or a combo of...

1. These deals were not declared and in some cases appear to have been actively hidden
2. Many of these deals started as promised money by the club and not as ‘arms length’ TPAs
3. He was on our board when his company was arranging these deals

We are in trouble more for attempting to hide incorrectly organised TPAs than for the impact they actually had as cap breaches.

Wonder how quickly the speculation over which player(s) are leaving to sort our cap out occurs.

Hopefully it's sorted by the end of this week.

Take from the article Egg quoted.

“The extent of the promises over the period we were looking at were over $750,000,” Weeks said. “Most of those promises weren’t honoured. The club embarked on a program that begun in earnest in 2017 to set up a structure to procure third-party agreements to players. They did that through a separate company. It was set up with the endorsement of the club, funded by a director, and was used to arrange third-party agreements for their players.”

Stupid question, why is Flanno the only person to cop a ban for our recent indescretions?

Surely those responsible for this TPA stuff should be banned from holding office in a NRL club for life?

Yep. And why can't we know who did what, when and how?

If this person(s) comes up on a ballot form again at some point I think members should be aware.

It's bizarre, almost feels as though they're being protected.

Our brand was already being held together by duct tape before Barry took the job - to suggest that everything would have been rosy had he not been appointed or not self reported is off the mark. We havn't exactly come crashing down from any lofty heights now have we.

Gorman wasn't the messiah we were hoping for as he could only address so many issues and we have been in dire straights for over a decade bouncing from scandal to scandal, financial hole to financial hole and sponsor to sponsor. But yea Barry is the reason the Sharks are embattled...ok...

At least now with the duct tape ripped off we have a chance to rebuild with some better structural material but I would not be surprised at all if we **** it all up again

Sounds like some in the club need a history lesson and a reality check along with a redirection of their anger.

How Gorman's name isn't wrapped up in all this I got no idea.

Well we didn't have hundreds of thousands worth of fines. We had one of the best coaches in the game. We didn't have cap restrictions for 2 seasons. We weren't getting bashed in the media over cap investigations for months making it impossible to sign or re-sign sponsors.

But sure, we're so much better off now, if you say so.

So which player(s) makes way? We got plenty halves and hookers, as much as I like Duges he gotta repay this year, but wonder whether he's on the block now?

Correct me if i am wrong, i have been known to **** a few things up in my time but

Doesnt this sentence say Most of those promises werent honored...........so in other words, they didnt actually do anything. So why are we being fined?

How can we be fined so harshly, when we havent actually done anything wrong?

That article is purely and utterly mud slinging. In it he states that "Gorman was NOT offerred immunity to spill the beans on his former clubs seedy past"

And that Gorman was NOT available for comment

So in other words............again, nothing to see here..............Literally there is no fact here whatsoever. But he fact it is mentioned in such a criminally sounding way, goes tof urther taint the sharks as guilty.

Where are the Sharks media team? Where are our lawyers? Why arent we defending ourselves?

I'd hazard a guess that its because " The Sharks legal team have NOT been offerred hush money by the NRL to take it on the chin so the world doesnt keep reading about Big Papi, or Jack De Muss".

No one at the sharks legal team was available/asked to comment on the above statement

if you plot a terrorist attack but chicken out, you still plotted one

we had every intent to cheat and illegally set up a way to cheat

thats why we were fined

its the exact way parra cheated, except we cooperated and parra hid evidence

we also did cheat, and they way we cheated was another level of stupidity

thats why we got fined
