We need to have 29 positions filled by round 1 right?

Dunno how many we have right now, but if we lose Ava we have to replace him with at least minimum wage. Maybe that's what Seggy was all along?

Well with all this done now, like has been mentioned though, there would be other teams for sure that have cap issues and yet they won't self-report. At this point the NRL should be going through every single team and having a look. But they won't. The whole Storm having their own cap issues has gone rather quiet too.

Given how long it took them to go through our books it would take the NRL 12 years to go through the remaining clubs.

Absolutely. Time to investigate every club, and finally get everyone on a somewhat level playing field.

and what would be the use of reducing every team in the comp's salary cap by 350k for the next 2 years

Dunno. It might actually show the NRL has some balls to look into all teams, even those that are higher up on the food chain - Broncos, Roosters etc.

They just need to put a system in place and go through every single club, because we would not be the only club that has such salary cap issues dating back to whenever. And even though there has been a reduction in the penalty due to self reporting, can guarantee no other clubs are sitting there right now going "****, we better self report and get on the front foot with this". No they will be busy clearing data, if they haven't already done so.

It's like Flanno's indefinite suspension; not finalised. You either ban the man for a period of time or not.

This bit makes me mad. I really don't understand how they can ban someone indefinitely.

Very poor way to treat someone.

He is de-registered not banned.

They're putting the onus on him to man up and apologise and come to them and beg for a job.

Basically calling out his arrogance and stubbornness. Not a bad way to handle it IMO.

Especially when there are others still in the game accused of and in some cases convicted of worse matters!

Anyone whose been convicted would have been told by the court their exact punishment. Flanno's indefinite suspension would be like a person being convicted of DUI and having their license suspended indefinitely and money garnished from their wage until they randomly decide to stop - your fine might be $100 or $10k. You may never get your license back.

It's a horrible thing to do to him. They say they'll think about it if any Club tries to register him, but that would only come after he's interviewed and got the job pending NRL approval. A lot time and energy for Flanno and a Club to go through just for Greenberg to go "hmmm... nah, maybe next time."

So who’s to blame in all this?

They sort of cleared Gorman by saying “people not in the game anymore.”

So I’m assuming Keogh? Mooney?

Surely Flanno was involved.

This is what sucks, I guess we're not gonna be privy to this. So our membership dollars help cover fines for offences we get told very little about.

We have no way of knowing if the punishment fits because we don't know the size of the crime or the culprits. I think fans and members should be told who did this to our Club. Who should we blame, or maybe more importantly who shouldn't we blame? At the moment anyone working there between 2013 and 2017 is a suspect for us, pretty unfair.
