Well this crap was pretty hard to watch yesterday. Refs arse raped us, and we made too many mistakes. Lucky I couldn't remember much of the game as I was pissed by half time but it was good to see all the Sharks supporters turn up pitty the boys didn't perform very well.

Didnt think we were too hard done by with the refs, I just thought we gave away penalties. Sure sometimes you can blame the refs (and I do) but often they just blow penalties because we obviously do something that is against the rules. The blame has to come back to the team at times. Fact is we are a side with poor discipline and with poor ball control.

It wasn't that the Broncos were strong. It was too easy for them to score against a side that wasn't really playing. Yuck I hate all this Bronco tripe. The broncos scored easy easy tries, it wasn't like it was a huge effort on their part. In saying that......I'm still gobsmacked as to why our side played they way they did....or didn't play shall I say.
One more thing...please please please....stop bashing the sharks on the forums ok people? Oh yes......and at the games too! You call yourselves supporters?? Where's the support when you're yelling at Barrett to go back to the Dragons. Give me a break!!! I was front row and centre for the Sharks V Broncos game yesterday and from our own "supporters" they were slagging the team. I'm disgusted and dissapointed.

i flew up and was in that bay they were screaming barrett go back to dragons and they said ricky get barrett on i sat they half pissed thinking he is own there i am still confused anyway i enjoyed the experience of that ground very very good, my mate i went with is a bronco he was screaming to I WANT 50 HAHAHAHA ******* i was in bay 317 row 10 seat 32 and 33

Heard they started the race on thursday and are still going...

Wilson I agree with your team but Collis is going to be out until round 9 or 10 as far as I know so I would try Albert Kelly there.

It the paper yesterday it said Collis was going to make his return against the broncos but opted for 1 more week and will play against the Knights.

How's about trying Fergo at fullback, Stapelton to the wing. He's great under the high ball and would carve oppositions up returning the ball and chiming into the backline?

Is that right? Well that is great news as I wanted both centres dropped for the nights so that will hopefully work out then.

To Ballmead: While I am reluctant to give Stapo praise in my last 3 consecutive posts in different threads he was one of the few players who did well last week as it was the first game in a long time when he wasnt simply a passenger. I think he went out to prove he is our fullback and I felt he achieved that. I had forgotten the one on one tackle with Corey Parker and that really impressed me considering his size and lack of strength was why I thought he may not be the right guy but he proved me wrong with that. Other than that he simply had a good game without being spectacular but when your team is down by 30 points it is hard for anyone to be.

Stapo also had good support play up the middle. Anyone notice that?

Stapo is very under rated IMO.

Dunno if this is the right thread to ask this but has anyone heard anything about the injuries to Snowden, Cordoba and Aiton?

I read on here Cordoba was 6-10 weeks but havent heard on the other guys.

Snowden is the main one I am concerned about as he would be our biggest loss. Aiton is awesome but we can cover for him if it is short-term.

He does, he was doing that last year with porter with the little inside ball which he scored a few tries off. Warriors game he scored off the inside ball (last year).

Brisbane, it's crap
I disagree with most of that. The Broncos were really good and would have beaten most sides with a performance like that. Their completion rate was second to none and their stars were firing. I do agree we didnt show up though and probably would have lost to any team anyway.

This brings me to the other reason I disagree with you. Last year I was pleading for us not to bash the Sharks because in the second half of the year we just didnt have a team that could play first grade due to all the injuries and other reasons but they still busted their guts and competed and almost one multiple games. Slagging them only showed that you didnt understand the situation. This year is different. This year they started the year with a team that would be lucky to make the 8 but would win games every now and then and may just miss out. But they are continually dropping the ball and playing hopelessly. The fans have been showing up despite this (not in huge numbers but impressive considering our position and the weather) but our team has still not shown up.

The specific example you mention though is completely uncalled for. Blaming one player like Barrett (who has been ne of the few giving his all) is disgusting and gives the rest of us bad names. Makes us no better than the Dragons fans who did the same thing to him when he was there.

lol what?? We shouldn't be slagging them at all! Or are you one of these types that are just a supporter when it's convenient to be. That's a load of rubbish buddy.

Sorry mate dont really agree with this. Broncs completed 100% or somethin silly in the first half, not due to them being full of awesome, but due to the complete lack of direction and defensive pressure applied to them by the sharks.

The boys looked lost out there from the kickoff. The broncs took advantage of this and did whatever they wanted with little to no resistance from our sharks.

Pomms was a deadset target all day for the broncs. As i expect most teams will continue to do until he either a) improves his defense, or b) gets dropped to lower grades for a while to get some confidence.

As for slagging off at your own players........thats a ****en disgrace. Do we deserve better from our team? yes I'd say we do. But standing there abusing our players or trashing them here on the forums isnt going to inspire them to play with heart for their fans.

Its just sad that it only takes one or two ********s to give the rest of the support crew a bad name

Mate if I was one of those then I would not have posted since the end of 2008 and would have not renewed my season ticket. I am out there rain or shine (don't remember the last shine tbh in terms of weather!) supporting the boys. I also completely agree that throwing abuse at them at the game is the wrong thing to do and it goes against what defines us, ie SUPPORTERS. So I am with you there.

I just dont think giving negative opinions of the team is wrong when they play ****. I don't mean the people on here who tear them up after each loss and call for Ricky's head. Hell that ispart of the reason I wait a few hours before posting. So I can have a clear head.

Last year they had a book full of excuses and they were legit excuses but this year the majority of them have been gutless and havent held the ball. So there is nothing wrong with saying that our team sucks and that individual players are not performing and for demanding changes. For the record I am not doing that as I only think we should drop our centres and then the team needs to harden up but I will not give a hard time to those who are choosing to voice their frustration that way because just because you say something negative does not mean you are disloyal, in this instance it means you have eyes.

I will clarify again though if any fans are abusing our players during games or booing them off the field that that is truly disgusting and I hope you understand the difference.

Well I think we were outclassed by Broncos outfit desperate for the win and 2 points, their stars were playing well. It didn't help that we didn't turn up to play either though.
There is no point in bagging our team, we were disappointing, but we as supporters have to support them. Sure we are all frustrated but whaling on them after a flogging is not the answer. I was in bay 317, row 3 and was sitting with 2 Bongos supporters, who were giving me crap the whole time, but I still cheered on loudly. A couple of the Sharks supporters around me were pretty good I thought, and copped the crap on the chin and continued their support. It was disappointing to hear the stuff about Barrett.
