This is a good test for our young team. I hope Flanno uses this the right way to teach his team how to win tight games. I think we will learn alot about the team by they way they play next week against Newcastle in Newcastle. We can turn our toes up or we can roll the sleeves up and get back into it next week. I hope it is the later.

I would like to see Gal do less and pick his moments. I think he demands the ball too much because he is so keen to win. We need Kelly and Graham to direct things more confidently and with time and more confidence thet will. The difference last night, other than the ref's, was the halves. Theirs played just a touch better with the ball in their hands. That is what I think will be the difference with most teams we play. We can match them upfront but need our halves to fire.

Okay it does suck, but I'm being optimistic and thinking Aiton and Flanagan both get a chance to prove themselves with both getting an upgrade.

I know Aiton has it in him. He has the potential to be a great hooker. Now is his chance to step up and do it. And Flanagan I've never seen anything in personally, but others do, and I guess they'll get to see that too.

Well I guess quite a few of us have made up our minds about Aiton V Flanagan for starting hooker.

Just a few comments to be made on the game. We have sports ears which we listed to at the game. All the two on the field did was argue with each other all game long. One particular thing was telling the Manly players to stay back...stay back...wait..wait...BUT still no penalty for going early or not being with the ref. Then when we get penalised Gallen asks Chechin what about the warning, and his reply to Gallen was "well I can't talk to everyone in person"......Thank You Very Much Mr Ref!

And after FOUR penalties in a row to the silvertails any wonder they were able to score.

I never felt so angry watching a game of football as I was after Saturday night.

<edit>

Two of Manly Scum's tries had forward passes involved just before scoring and Daly Fairy Evans field goal, forward pass not picked up just before.

I can handle us losing but not when we're ****ing robbed blind like that.

Those two ****s with the whistle should be kicked out of rugby league and forced to referee U7's netball.

The Refs put a cross through our win last night end of story.

I would just like to say I am very proud of the boys. Once again we played football that showed we deserve to be in the finals this year.

I am so glad to see an improvement in Kelly and Graham's long kicking games. It will mean the world to us in the big games that they are starting to hit the ground with consistancy.

What a heartbreaking game to be up 13 -0 and to lose in that fashion. I think the boys did well to hold them out aslong as they did when the had to defend for those consecutive sets. Defensively we seem a much stronger out fit than the last previous years. I think alot of that comes from our outside backs. Williams and Best have been sensational !

We'll learn from that game, we have some young halves who need to step up and be smarter. Our attacking kicking game was terrible, absolutely terrible. All we did was kick high and hope. There were no grubbers, chips or crossfields. This needs to be worked on and am confident it will come good.

Kelly seems to be targetted alot in defence and its not working, it is however tiring him out for attack, whether that is the plan or not I am not sure.

Aiton needs to be dropped, Flanno was much better when he came on imo.

I'll be at the Knights game next week and win will be very important. Good thing there's alot of other teams on 4 points also.

People can blame the refs all they like but IMO the absolute dumb mistakes made by Gallen and Tupou were just a big a factor. If Gallen doesnt try the miracle off load and Toops the intercept we win that game.

aitons going to shut everybody up here imo, I think flanno and aiton will form a good partnership in the dummy half rotation, it is time for flanno to prove himself. Aiton will give us a few points I reckon and then by time morris comes back there will be a big dilemna over who will start. I don't think we will lose that much.

Toops is my new hero.
Just watching the game now (don't tell!) and it's 26 minutes in. Tupou has just made what is I think his third takle in a row, from about 15 metres out to right on the try line. And they're not just hang on a hope tackles, each on is stopping the player dead with no chance of an offload.

It's that sort of play that's inspiring the whole team. I'm really impressed with the goal line defence all round. There is real sting in each hit, attackers are being dropped on impact and their play completely stifled.

The Sharks are looking pretty good. Give this squad half a season playing together and the attack will come together.

yeah I can't believe what has happened to him I loved him at penrith he was one of the top 9's around but now he is playing ****, flanno is a good solid player he should probs start with aiton off the bench. Can't believe a player of aitons quality didn't take that opportunity but I don't really reckon the addition of morris to that team would of made any difference.

Is anybody getting the feeling that this is 2007 all over again?

aiton has done more **** wrong than cuthbo, **** him off to park footy until he learns to pass the ball backwards...

All the "big name" dummy halves throw forward passes as well, only they seldom get pulled up for it...

I really don't know why so many of them push it to the limit so much. there isn't really that much of an advantage passing it to someone who is really only half a metre further forward.

I have never felt more angry after a footy game than saturday night. Sure we made dumb mistakes at critical times in the game, but the refs just killed us in the 2nd half (and was evident by the amount of security that escorted them off the field after the game!).
