the previous administration did not organise this, irvine and co did, and well done, we got a cash influx.

we made the decision last year, we knew the game was coming, and we new it was in new zealand.

but here's the thing, its easy to say "we won 2 in a row, we would of got a bumper crowd..." yadda yadda yadda, but that is just crap.

last year we had a new coach and a team starting to play well, losing to canberra just, and being ripped off against the tigers.. and we got under 10000 the following week to the warriors.

bad comparison, ok, 2009, we start playing well, play the warriors on a sunday arvo at home when we are in form, and get just over 10k.

this game is not a match puller...

today we got a cash influx, im guess gate takings, and an increase in merchandise, plus exposure in N.Z that wasnt in auckland.

it was a decision that was made, stuck with, and is not the reason we lost the game

Can we have some more rational posts like this please?

100% correct Snowman.

The ground, the country, the weather had nothing to do with it.

We were beaten by the better side who took full advantage of our mistakes
and somewhat poor defence.

It was a scrappy game from both sides and the Warriors walk away with the two points.

You will never, ever win a game if you only make 905 metres. Just pathetic, Attack was predictable and one sided, and defence was very soft.

I expected this to happen close games and the halves let us down. The forwards went well and most backs went well. Defence on the fringes is a weakness. Gardner needs to improve his passing game.

Attack from us is very flat at times also. Our halves also take the run too often. Our strengths are obviously in the forwards, and we used that in the first half.

We attacked down the middle then had Tupou, Gallen and Smith running on to it with pace a little wider and creating offloads through that. Our play has got to reflect that all of the time.

We attacked Mannering's side way to often too. Would have been more successful if there was a winger with pace there instead of Matthew Wright. Pomeroy has been damaging the previous two weeks with the ball in hand and it amazed me we didn't go down his side more often. Especially because Tupou is parked that side and he's been incredibly strong all season. Offloads galore. Poor gameplan.

Good post, but I disagree with the conclusion about the gameplan- the gameplan was obviously to roll down the middle and then hit the big boys on the fringe on tackles 3 and 4 and try and create something there- an offload, a little short pass. The problem was Gal. During the Penrith press conference, Flano was asked if it was a plan to run down Tahu's channel and he answered that it wasn't really- its just that Gal dominates the calling so much and gets so much ball, our play will always go in that direction often. The same thing happened today. Gal dominated the possession, and just got in Graham's way consistently. Bloody irritating to be honest. Gal needs to learn when and how to run a good, straight, outside-in decoy line- it would make an enormous difference to our attack.

Lack of ak toops and poms is the reason we lost this one . That side has been fantastic for us. This game we hardly if at all went that way

completely agree with AB. gallen is just trying to have too much ball. he thinks hes some 5/8th. someone needs to stand up to gal and tell him that hes a lock. hit the ball up hard. safe offloads, decoy run! how many defenders would he draw in? and they would never know when hes going to take the run. hes very predictable also, for example, when its last tackle on the short side and gallens in dummy half, you can almost 100% be surre gallen is going to run it. things like that will end up screwing us over. someone needs to tell gal to stop!

Yeah Gallen did some bad things in this game, that kick was just horrible for example. Needs to step back and let others do things. I like him out wider but he can't hog it as much out there. He just gets in the way sometimes.

Regarding the ground, I think it was a fantastic thing that they took the game over there and the only single negative thing was not getting the win, but that could have happened at home anyway, no one really knows do they.

People are saying that the good teams would have won that game, maybe, but one thing I know for sure if the good teams wouldn't let a loss like that get to them.

Well said.

The only consolation for me is we played well below what we played against the Dragons and Panthers, and also that our goal-line defence was quite decent considering how many turnovers we made. So just get the focus back and she'll be right. :hoping

I don't want to be seen as us all turning on him after one loss, when he has just had 2 fantastic games.

But I strongly believe there should be the option to substitute him in games like today, when he looked tired leading up to half-time and most of the second half. Smith could be captain on the field while he is off.

The debate over the ground has been had and the decision made. Non-issue.

I thought we were okay, and good in patches. The Warriors were very good, and they always seem to play near their best against us. If I had to put my finger on the reason we lost, I'd say that we just didn't take our opportunities when we were in their 22 in the second half. I thought everything went their way in terms of refereeing- the two penalties on Fiishiahi (sp) were very soft, the Pomeroy 'extended tackle' was ridiculous, as was Gardner supposedly being held, and there were numerous dicey forward pass/dropped ball calls. Then again, everything went our way last week against Penrith and such things usually go the way of the team that wants it more.

Anyway, we didn't have a whole lot of football in the second half but we probably did have enough chances to put another try or two on. As I said above, I thought Gal got in the way often. When we were down their end, we lacked blokes running hard and straightening the attack. We also lacked depth.

I actually thought Wade Graham was close to our best today, and certainly had his best game with the footy for us so far. His kicking game was better, he scored a classy try, created some opportunities for Best and he showed glimpses of a long passing game at the end of the match which we hadn't seen before.

The defence was mixed- when the just grinded away at us the boys were really good (including holding them out our line well), but when Mateo and Brown and co started offloading they looked very dangerous.

I actually thought that the key point was when we held them out for a couple of sets straight, and then got away with a break and were all over them and looked like scoring, but there was a dropped ball and they ended up getting the try. The best teams not only keep out that initial pressure, they go down there and score themselves. Positive was that we kept them out and got our way down their end, but didn't execute and score ourselves.

Overall, good game of footy and an entertaining, high intensity match. Well done to the Warriors.

I wouldn't say that I'm 'turning' on him. I still love him as a player, and you'll find that I've been concerned him getting in Graham's way on the left there for a while now.

Can't believe we won the possession game and then you look at the game stats, our damaging runners didn't get enough ball. I think we are scoring better from half way than we are from 10 out. We just get lost and look flat in that situation, however give us a sniff of broken play from anywhere in the field and we're dangerous.

Things for Flano to work on:
- Gallen being used less
- Obviously some defence particularly scrambling
- Set plays off scrums and when 10 out from the try line. Decoy runners, depth.

Yeah I didn't mean you in particular, just the way forums can swing from praise to criticism can look bad. I know you've expressed it previously, and feel pretty much the same as you do.

I`m not going to be someone who jumps ship and bags the hell out of his team after a loss, but I was really disapointed after todays loss. We looked tired, and in parts of the game we lacked a lot of energy/aggression around the rucks, and at times our play the balls were as slow as I have ever seen. Our Hookers were both disapointing.

Refs made thier errors too.

I didn't see the game as I have been away but from what I heard on the radio it sounds like we did exactly what I was worried about; that is, go in overconfident and, once we were ahead at half time, try to go on the attack and stack on the points, whilst forgetting about defence.

I made a comment before this match that our last two wins had been built on defence and we need to stick to that. I think this may be where we lost this game. ABC commentators said we were very sloppy in the second half and made alot of errors.

All in all, I'm not too disappointed that we lost this one. It will propbably bring the team back to earth a little bit after all the hype following our last two wins.

The biggest disappointment for me is just the fact that we had the opportunity to go 3 - 1 for the season, which would have put us near the top of the table and in a great position heading into a tough game against Manly. Instead, we are 2 - 2, which will probably see us drop out of the eight on for-and-against and the pressure will be right back on us.

Let's hope the killer Shark defence is back for next weeks game!:hoping
