This year is already gone imo. Put Holmes in NYC so we can prep him properly. Don't ruin the poor kids career by letting him catch aids from our first graders.

yup we have holmes for a few years yet don't need to rush him, he isn't having that much impact out on the wing. Is Gagan still injured? I don't understand why he doesn't have his wing spot

Something i liked is that Robbo had 1 shot at kicking out on the full for a penalty, failed (we got lucky) and then it was designated straight back to Ennis.

It seemed like Ennis was starting to order people around the park in the second half as well. Could explain why we seemed to have a little bit (not much) more direction.

Agreed Gibs. Ennis took control and we looked so much better for it.

I thought it was interesting that during the week Flano mentioned that the hooker/half cbination needed work - i.e. Robbo and Ennis. Said that they were both used to being in control and it needed to be sorted out.

Robbo didnt have a bad game by his standard. Its just plain stupid that we dont have a set of halves that can kick. Wade and ennis do all the clearing and its unheard of in not just modern rugby league but historically as well. If murphy can kick put him in the side

bird to centre beale to the wing

Or

bird to 5/8, barbs to fb and gordon wing are 2 scenarios being put forward this week

Much prefer the first scenario, even if it means val misses out. I hope we persist with barba at 5/8, if he just finds the confidence to take the line on he will be dangerous.

I am doubting if team changes will actually change anything all it may prove to do is put another player under pressure.
Its definitely deeper than team changes, and I will add they are the worst team to watch its just a mess.

i really don't see how any of those scenarios is going to help, it's the game plan that needs to be changed, sticking bird into 5/8 when we are 0 and 3 is just stupid imo. The only thing that we can change that may help us get points is putting Gagan on the wing and bombing to him every chance we get.

Changing the make up of the side after every loss isn't going to help, looks to me as flanno is blaming the players and not the structure that is set

In your head, rent free
unfortunately, Bird is now being labelled the great white hope, he will be in the side sooner rather than later

I hope it pushes Beale to the wing and he plays centre, apparently he tore Penrith up on the weekend at Centre and that is no easy task

I have no issues with bird coming into the side but it should be on the bench, we really need to stop using our number 10 for 20 or less minutes, it's such a waste

Taga played 10 minutes on Saturday. I really don't get the thought process of having the starting prop playing the opening period then benching him for the remaining of the game, poor tactics in my opinion and we would be much better of sticking gal in the 10, lewis at 13 freeing up a bench spot for bird

What happens if bird lets in a few try's this weekend and doesn't create anything? We just going to send him back to nsw cup? It's a bold move to hope a kid who has never played first grade will save us from the hole we are in

Weren't they down a man for 54 minutes of the game? I'm not reading too much into a game of 13 v 12 personally.

In saying that I'd like to see him get a shot in first grade, not at 5/8th though

Did Souths and Penrith have a negative attitude about giving their young blokes a go in Dylan Walker, Alex Johnson and Matt Moylan.
They were good enough so they were old enough.

Bird is a real footballer.
He is not going to be the messiah but he will be a positive for now and the future.
