The refereeing played a huge part in that loss. Set the tone early and we played into Melbournes hands from there

It's easy to be on a different level when one teams allowed to lay in tackles.

The rule in a three man tackle is one peels off, then the other two simultaneously. Melbourne didn't do this.

They were peeling off one at a time and the referees didn't penalise them, then when we copied them, they blew the whistle.

This Peeling rule is rarely enforced, agree seen it a lot tonight.

We should never I mean NEVER go into a game as favourites it never works out

I find it strange you critise bird but not our halfback who plays in the middle of the field

Because Robson was actually trying to create something rather than waiting on the edges for something to happen.

Don't get me wrong, Robson's attack was useless, but I can't fault him for getting around the play trying to spark something.

Gutted with that loss.

Melbourne got away with blue murder in the ruck and their consistently skinny 10 metres.

Our kicking game was atrocious and cost us dearly. We also desperately needed a couple of those big fellas we have on the sidelines. That muscle we've shown in defence was gone. WTF!

geez mate you're clutching at straws. We had way to much sideways movement and too many one up hit ups. We are very bad tonight. The refs have nothing to do with it.

I am in no manner clutching at straws - the refs should've penalised storm frequently for outrageous interference / holding down in the play the ball.

You don't get it - you want to criticise our failings, and I agree with those failings to a point - but when you keep getting shafted in the play the ball you get frustrated and have to play the ref.

If you get repeatedly shafted by biased refereeing (which you haven't challenged yet) and not allowed to play a fair set of 6 repeatedly - you don't think we have to try stuff?

We we didn't have an even playing field - end of story

Not going to slit wrists over this. Had an amazing last 10 weeks or so. I would normally be jumping in and giving it to players etc. will wait and see if we can bounce back against tigers before I do me stack

I expected to lose but not like that we looked like we were on a whole new level. Had a massive chance to build on a great few weeks but just dropped our lollies and looked like schoolboys

We aren't a threat when we can't score points. Out in the first week of the semis and then hopefully Maloney and Townsend can change things, but I doubt it. This club has never been able to score points consistently.

Holy **** that was a Bellamy special. Play the balls were at a standstill. We still played garbage, but a ref with a whistle might have helped. Our line speed was non-existant.

Your an idiot if you think we weren't reff'ed out of this contest.

Melbourne have laid on us from the opening whistle to the end with zero penalty's for it. Every tackle they have been able to reset their defensive line. Every single tackle. This was a game we had no chance of winning thanks to the officiating.

This is the ultimate summary for tonight.

Great to see the wrist slitters out tonight. We've had a fantastic record against top 8 teams this year. Souths, Brisbane and tge Cows have all had a **** game of late. But yeah, we're **** because of one putrid game after some fantastic wins.

Sounds like we just had an absolute **** of a night, maybe we were bound to have one sooner or later and it's better now than later...

The refs were terrible but you guys are kidding if you think they had a bearing on the result. They didn't.

I've been pointing this out since kick-off - well put

In reality the result should have been 12-2 - late tries blew it out

Apart from the reffing we lost it because of our kicking game - its woeful - WTF is Mitch Healy doing with Robson ?

It was 12-2 for most of the game HB. All it would have taken was a tempo swing to get us right back into the game. It's hard to swing the tempo when every play the ball takes 6 seconds.
