<EDITED>

Strugglers Cronulla, who are already low on troops, could be in worse shape and risk losing backrower Jack Afamasaga to suspension for Sunday's clash with Wests Tigers.

Afamasaga can avoid a week on the sidelines with a early guilty plea after being charged with a grade two careless high tackle.

The charge stems from an incident in his team's 30-10 loss to Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on Monday night.

Afamasaga will face a one week ban if he unsuccessfully contests the charge before the judiciary.

Bruised Sharks back from Brisbane

The Sharks arrived back from Brisbane with a couple more potential injuries following the loss to the Broncos, with coach Ricky Stuart naming the same side to face the Tigers, pending fitness checks during the week

Bruised Sharks back from Brisbane
August 11, 2009

The Sharks injury woes have continued with the news that at least two more players could be on the sidelines this week following a bruising encounter against the Broncos last night.

On arrival back in Sydney Bronx Goodwin was headed for scans on an injured shoulder, while Terence Seu Seu, forced from the field in the first half with a hamstring strain, also faces a week of rehab in a bid to be fit to tackle the Tigers, while their were concerns over Bryan Norrie’s knee, with more scans to determine the extent of his injury.

Already battling a crippling injury toll, the Sharks can ill-afford to be missing more players from their NRL squad.

With the extent of the injuries yet to be known, coached Ricky Stuart has optimistically named an unchanged side to take on the Tigers on Sunday. To view the full team line up click here

Amidst the negative vibe there was a positive note, with international back-rower Anthony Tupou not without hope of being able to play against the Tigers. Tupou has missed the last three games with a hamstring problem.

The Sharks tried hard against the Broncos but in opposition to a team with players returning from injury, rather than being left out, were in the end no match for a desperate Brisbane team.

This weekend will tell a similar story, with the Sharks certain to give coach Stuart and the loyal supporters plenty of application, against another team fighting to remain in the semi final race.

The Sharks v Tigers clash is set down for Toyota Stadium on Sunday, with the kickoff at 2.00pm. The match is also a part of the NRL’s Family Fun Day’s with discounted tickets and extra activities on offer for the kids.

I would like to see Misi play in the NRL for the remainder of this year. He is an inspiration. He hits up harder than our forwards and never gives up.

Ricky said, he doesn't wanna 'burn' these young players out.

That's why it was a shuffled team against Broncos. And probably the remainder of the season.
