Just a comment on Stapo.

I swear he had an opportunity to score if he actually decided to go for the corner instead of crapping himself and going infield. Could have been the difference in the end.
And lets not forget about the kick off that went out on the full, every time this happens it absolutely does my head in!

F me. One job stapo. One job.
Don't rate him as a player at all..

If you close at both incidents, as he went to kick off the ball was falling of the tee and he tried to get under it more, and when he dropped that ball he got kneed right in the jats krackers,
all you need to wright is i hat Stapo no matter what he does.

Imo no matter how we can try & sugar coat it we look disorganized in golden point, we look to have no vision or a inability to think outside the square & are mesmorized about "we have to kick a field goal", I know its easy being a arm chair critic but surely when we are going over video analysis this is discussed, even a message being sent down from Flanno prior to doing the golden point toss of a coin.

we have little to no creativity in the halves and I it all would come from Chad. And I don;t think we have the skill to played outside the square.

But Bill Harrigan's verdicts on the decisions are interesting:

I dont often advocate this but everyone on here should bombard that contact address on the NRL page demanding harrigan take action against the clowns in charge last Saturday night , it seems we as a club arent going to take it further and I agree nothing would come of it but if the fan's all lodge complaints somebody will have to listen - Be polite !

nice idea but nothing will come of it. they will just say refs are human and mistakes are part of the game and then accuse us of being sooks

The actual decisions aside ...

IMO given the importance of the call and the closeness I think they should have been able to call for the video on the kick-off play. They do it on contests in the in goal all the time (even clear no-try calls) to make sure they get the dropout/20m call correct.

and ...

If the video ref can say "you'd best let me look at that; I think Graham hit Hoffman high there", he can certainly say either "Coote was well in front there" or "player X is in front of the kicker" or "not sure that went 10m - give me a look at it".

and ...

I wonder what they'll say about these games (this one and the Tigers game) if we miss the finals by a point. A couple of years ago they admitted we were robbed in a game, but said it didn't matter because we were in 13th.

Lumpy....respectfully, this has been our problem for, at least, the last 23 years (I exclude the 88-89 team...and many of our 70's teams). I expect more from our team. Full stop. I dont need to appologise for it, nor should you or anyone else. We certainly have the team to make the 8, even the 4. This may not even happen because we may end up not winning our last 9 games. losing 9 in a rown is not over achieving, neither is making the 8.

The quicker we stop thinking like the poor cousins with an inferiority complex the more chance we are of cracking one of the longest droughts in the history of international sport!!! think about that....internaltional sport.

Yea while the poor ol Sharkies have had some things go against them over the years this club and team has got to stop feeling sorry for itself. I don't think the fans feel sorry, we feel angry and want to hit back!

When it comes to know how about how to actually win a game of football, despite our position on the ladder I think we are one of the most clueless clubs. We never win comfortably and we looked almost suprised when we score a try or win a game.

As for Saturday we wern't good enough but neither were the refs. Both parties need to sort their crap out.

I'll give him credit where its due.
But surely he has had his chanceS

There was one clear opportunity from the first half were he took to going infield when any other First Grade winger in the comp would go for the corner.
Didnt back himself, didn't/doesnt show his contribution to the team.
He is a NSW Cup player at best.

But... The connundrum is....
Who do you put infront of him this year?

My answer...
No one... It is was it is..

The StapleGun is miss firing. Any other non Sharks wingers eyes would have lit up at that space and gone for it. Then again if he got bundled into touch people would be bagging him as well but should have back himself considering we needed points.

I back his choice, after everyone giving him **** I went back and watched the vision a dozen times, there's no way he makes it, and there are few who would have. He had to stop his momentum to get the ball as it wasn't the best and the cover defence was there to protect the try.

Again It doesn't what he does, he comes in field and let's play continue, you bag him for not Havin a crack, he has a go and gets taken out and you all call him selfish and **** for not scoring.

It just ****s me you guys only look at the flaws in his game, his good things are out eating his bad things

No way he scores on the play you are referring to. They had him covered easily.

Also ... as far as his ability under the high ball, people seem to be just making stuff up. He dropped swirling one on a rainy night against the Warriors but hasn't dropped another one all year (and I can't remember one last year either).

Not to mention he has saved the day on more then one occasion.

Stopped hurrel scoring that try, intercept to win the game against Brisbane and tackling coote in golden point.

But nah he dropped a bomb with 3 players surrounding him while getting kneed in the balls drop him and he made a safe choice of cutting in field he's ****.
