The way I look at it, the less referees are talked about the better they are. (I know this isn't always true) but Archer and Shane Payne are meant to be the 2 best refs, but often are they criticised for crap performances. Robinson is always talked about as with his muppet mate Suttor. They have to be the 4 worst going around!

The standards of referees must be at an all time low if Shayne the Payne is one of the best refs.

Robinson,Suttor and the Payne are the worst.

I'd consider Ashley Klein as the best referees atm tbh.

Our search for a local animal oracle continues

CAMPBELLTOWN just may have an oracle in the making, with Yoda the cattle dog so far correctly predicting two out of two Wests Tigers games results.

He was (unfortunately) right about the Tigers' 38-20 loss to the Manly Sea Eagles but also spot on when it came to the 24-22 victory over the Cronulla Sharks on the weekend.

Fingers crossed he's on the ball again with this Saturday's game against the Rabbitohs.

Yoda predicted the Tigers would win all games except to the Sea Eagles and Melbourne Storm.

Harry, the maltalier owned by Tigers prop John Skandalis, is in second place on the oracle ladder after correctly predicting the win against the Sharks but showing too much hope with Manly.

Toiletbrush the frog is in third place, although we can hardly blame him for predicting a tie with the Sharks it was a tough game.

To get dropped you need to do something bad to St. George, Brisbane, Manly or the Roosters.

Robert Finch's comments can basically be paraphrased as "this is not a serious problem because Cronulla are not a semi-final contender".

I actually think Robinson is one of the better referees going around. And I feel sorry for them that if they make say five bad decisions out of a few thousand in an 80-minute game they get crucified... no wonder they're under-confident.

We had enough chances to win it on Saturday, you can't rely on the ref calls going your way.

I'm with you, I have been a big fan of his until the last couple of games he has reffed for us he has screwed us royally. I don't think it is an agenda but they have been bad mistakes. I still think he is a good ref though, I just don't want Sharks to have him for a while.

They refs are over coached and over involved in a game. They seem to let some things go and pull other things up. If they pull up one ruck infrigement, they have to pull them all up. They can't pick and choose. Why can they be coached to let the game flow and be in the background, much like Bill Harrington was.

I would much rather see a flowing game with bugger all penalties.

I really agree with your summary. Have some rep.

It's gotten so bad and pedantic that even when the Sharks get penalties I sometimes emmit a yawn of frustration. I mean it's good for us to get our share of penalties awarded but sometimes I just wanna watch some footy from both sides, not law and nucking order/kick for touch festival!

Gus said it best "refs have no feel for the game"
But hey they are just doing what uncle finchy and hollywood are telling them. It's alot to do with the way they are coached not just thier eyesight and own intepretations.

However they do seem arrogant and do like to show off all the obscure rulings they think they should apply.

Back in the 90's I dont remember giving a **** who was the ref for the game but now it seems as important as who is on our bench!

The fox commentators made a good point - why can't club games be officiated like origins free flowing style?! Origin won't suffer for it in comparison, might even be better as players are more accustomed to consitant rulings!

The players have caught on and we are becoming like soccer - simulation won't be far away.:( Take the refs into the background and bring back our game into focus! No one is laughing at this joke of an NRL (National Rugby Lottery) anymore. Of course refs are just the tip of the iceberg...

Robinson is by far the worst. His wife Jenny is a referee, I would prefer to have her in control. Not only the decision against the Tigers and Manly send off last year but earlier in Round 10 against Penrith at home, he decided a dropped ball forward from Lachlan Coote to Michael Jennings was OK and he awarded the try.

I have no time for him whatsoever.
