It's more a first and second receiver partnership than left and right.

Even then we mix it up a lot. Chad's played plenty of second receive. Even Jayden plays some first receiver where required. Then Moylan comes in a lot when he plays. There's plenty of players in the team that slot into backline movements regardless of position.

For sure, it'd be crazy to try and strictly run a dedicated first and second receiver.
Typically though a backline swing is Jayden to Chad to Johnson who looks at second rower/fullback/centre(/big double cut out forward to winger) as his reads but plenty of variations in this definitely come up.

I agree most of the times it's like that. They seem to be the ones that don't come off!

How's this for a solution to get Xerri not involved this game... Nikora has been getting what, 15 short balls a game from SJ? Maybe less, but a lot. Why don't they just slot in Xerri for half of those? Xerri is a big body, wicked turn of speed and would be just as hard to stop 10 out from the try line after being out into a half gap by SJ as Nikora.

It'd also give Nikora a bit of a break, who has been getting more than his fair share of work.

Xerri could use some extra structure in attack. His positional play isn't great, so let SJ steer him to the line.

Sharks by 14. Easy ;)

No need to go any further.

Also Sparkles, not sure what you meant by your first sentence - how to get Xerri NOT involved this game?

Everything you have said has him involved, perhaps it was a typo?

Wade and Moyza both named, do we think we will really see Fifita start from the bench? I hope we do but wouldn't be surprised if he ended up starting

Does SJ not play both sides of the field? Any reason why they couldn't replicate the move on either side?
You can start there, mate.

Certainly was an autocorrect fail (another new fandangled technology thing). Not=more.

You can see how the phone would make that assumption...!

not often, no, and when he does he is cutting people out

why would you want him away from the best attacking edge in the competition to give a short ball to xerri?

If all fit and all in form, that's a pretty good side.

I don't expect Fifita to start from the bench, I reckon he'll come into the starting side an hour from kick off, probably for Woods.

Moylan and Wade need to be 100% fit for me to get too excited, there will be a question mark on those two especially with hammy problems.

No utility on the bench although BB is in the reserves list and could come in, or they use Capewell as the utility or dummy half.

Ronaldo unlucky to miss out. Thought he had a cracking game last Thursday.

Other than that, if we run hard and defend well, we can win this.

Good try but you should probably just chalk this one up as a loss sparkles.
Working the other side of the field to hit Xerri instead of Graham is very different to giving Xerri some of Nikora's workload.

I do agree Johnson hits Nikora a few times to many a game and maybe more of those should go to the centre or FB.

Graham and Nikora very different players and should be approached/used differently by the halves.

At least we won't lose anything when Woods comes off...

Yeah I hope Fifita starts from the bench, too. Needs a rocket.
