That was hard to take. I think the weight of expectation is playing on us.

We were expected to win this and I think it is getting to us. We don't have the hard heads we need.

Gal and Smith will make a difference but we need one of our halves to step up.

If we want to make a run in the finals, even make the finals, we need a dominate half. I am not sure who can do that.

That's a very astute observation mate and you couldn't be more right. For some reason we tried to go around them by going sideline to sideline. It didn't work in the first half and it surely didn't work in the second half. We would have been better off just smashing it down the middle and running from dummy half. Atleast the scoreline may have been more respectable. And whilst I don't know for sure I've got a feeling that DeGois has been tied down trying to follow the "A" plan. The dude just doesn't run from dummy half anymore. Very worrying indeed.
i'm 99% sure that changing our game plan today would of not in any way changed the result.
Our 6 & 7 were in disney land today.
the raiders are supremely fast team, play the ball @ hundred miles an hour but lack discipline in defense.
today however they conquered their achilles heel to our chagrin.
they put the towel through Melbourne's defense a few weeks ago down in vic.
don't kid yourself we were beaten by a bloody good football team that can only get better.

it'a not exactly wrist cutting time in the shire.
as the winter months can be cold, miserable and full of phlegm. yet the sniff of spring time is something to behold, with sheer will and delight the sharkies will put up one mighty fight.:glasses-cool:

Like it mate. Well said.

Lets get on with next week and get this things back on track. With Gal and Smith coming back we will be fine.

I would much rather them both be there but if that means they are fit and fresh for the finals, bring it on.

I dunno Oozy, i think our form guide at the start of next season will read something like..."improvement noted, but found the step up in class a bit tough at this stage".

Our normal attack wouldnt have won this game anyway. They put 36 points on us, the first few tries were unforgivable. From the kick off we had 3 sets of 6, then instantly, they ran 90, then scored. There is no reason we shouldnt have been 6 nil to us after 5.

cheers Lumpy, i think your spot on mate, we missed our big guns today.
just hope the team can shake off the cob webs and start anew next week.
we will probably be missing a couple either way.
we just need to start hurting teams defensively again..

What annoyed me probably the most was the halftime report made by Noddy. Apparently Flano wasn't that worried and thought all we had to do was follow his game plan .

Game plan what Game plan ? Inside passes was that it ? well we certainly followed the game plan then

20 points down to a team well out of the running and he's not that worried - says a lot about our performance

We missed gal and smith in more ways than 1 today. They provide a presence that attracts the attention of the defense allowing our halves a bit of extra time. Without them it was easy for raiders to pick off wat little options we had. It didn't help wade played with a cracked sternum either. 1 thing we need to learn is that our forwards go too much 1 out off the ruck. They slowed us down way to easy and when they had the ball they got 1 on 1 with our defense to easily.

Need to string a few together and get back in the 4 pretty quickly now.

Didn't show that today.
i't might seem like i'm trying to post a rosy picture after today's performance.
i guess i'm guilty. my point is that we have come so far this year to throw the whole fugging thing away after a seemingly lack lustre showing . it's one terrible game in the portrait that is our best season in years.

The biggest problem to surface today is Carney. He fell off tackles, threw crazy wide passes, one perfectly onto the chest of dugan, couldn't kick at all. His form has been down since origin and doesn't look like improving. Can you believe what we watched today was the NSW 5/8? He never ran the ball, looked lacklustre and frankly like he didn't give a ****.

I'm starting to believe the twitter rumours. Something is seriously off with that guy. They should drop him for chad next week, but they won't.

Bennett has been previously quoted saying that sides struggle after origin. Here's the proof.

Steady on. Dropping Carney is a big call.

He will be flat after origin as it took alot out of him. Look at the Storm.

Get Gal and Smith back and he will be ok. He needs a dominate half inside him. Robbo has moments but not each week.

Carney will come back in the next couple of weeks. We need other blokes to step up.

Well, glad I didn't watch that game. Couldn't believe my ears when I was told the fulltime score... so embarrassing. Heard Carney had a shocker?

Yeah I mostly agree with you, but I was at the game in the burns stand today and I watched him the whole first half on our side of the field and he looked disinterested and actually weak. Guys just ran through him, and when he got the ball he couldn't wait to get rid of it. He wasn't even trying, it was weird. He hardly broke a sweat. Totally agree about the dominate half, and not sure robson is it long term.

The team looked the best when Morris was on the field. Flanno said after that they may have been burning the candle at both ends with a few guys and I reckon he's right. They might even consider resting some guys next week, for the sake of the rest of the year.
