I really hope so too,

Best forward in the game at the moment

We seem to produce some forwards at Cronulla,

Fifita has emerged as the best forward and earning blues selection

Snowden earned a blues & roos jersey hen he was here, he has now gone on to nothing

Douglas was talked about for origin at some point but has gone quiet since going to the titans

He is in red hot form at the moment but I think it's a bit early to be calling him the best forward in the game. There are still a few in front of him. I'm glad he is ours all the same.

I'd call him the best prop atm though Tef.

He is in the best form out of any forward

out of interest who do you think is the best prop in the game?
IMO he has been the form prop over the past 2 months

Ben Matulino would push him. He is an unbelievable player. And if anyone argues they haven't been watching him this year. A bit left field but George Burgess has been just as damaging this year. Matt Scott is probably still the bench mark. Fifita is definitely a blue chip player now and full credit to him.

But Fifita gives you hitups AND try's (+cover defense). He's like a FB & Prop in one so let's call him a Prop Back

If he's the best in the NRL is subjective depending who you talk to but surely his form has exploded out of the blocks more than any other forward in the game this year - the improvement has been immense

Another thing I noticed after watching the replay today was when Fifita made the cover tackle it looked like Jono Wright could have possibly got across but showed nowhere near the urgency Fifita did to get there.

First chance I've had to comment on the game.

Thanks to Evertonshark and Gil for introducing me to Gards and DJ.

Up 24-0 at half time I was happy but not over enthused by our performance. I thought we looked flat and if it wasn't for the deflection for Wade's try there's every chance we could have come up empty again after having all the ball in the first 15 minutes.

We always look good getting from our zone to their 20 but once we get there we seem to have no idea. Can't understand it really.
After our first try we were again lucky to get Carney and Stapo's effort as their kick could have gone anywhere. Lewis' try, again from a kick was well executed but nothing spectacular. Fifita's try brought the crowd to its feet and I doubt I've seen a better try from a prop forward at Shark Park. Awesome stuff.

The first 20 minutes of the second half was absolute *****. What they were thinking, I don't know. The bad line speed defence was suddenly even worse and a million spiders started appearing on many of the Tigers players. Some awful reads in defence and poor attempts at tackle saw me and Evertonshark pounding our fists and swearing our heads off. It was not pretty. Thank god the Tigers self destructed a bit but after leading 24-0 supporters should NOT be chewing their nails still four minutes from full time.

Points of note were:

Carney played well and controlled the attack. Still nowhere near his best, but his try assists and 40/20 were excellent.
Fifita, well what can you say about this bloke. Absolutely awesome. The other 16 players, the coach, the lower grades and the supporters owe him big time. Needs to be re-signed/upgraded for life.
Apart from a bad miss and read in defence I liked Stapo's effort and feel he has a red hot go. One thing he does have is speed, when he gets into the clear not many can catch him.

Stewie Mills. Geez. I was a huge fan of his but his performance was terrible. I kept waiting for him to redeem himself and make a 30 or 40 metre break or pull off a try saving tackle or catch a towering bomb, but it never happened. Why Flanno persisted with him at fullback and left Stapo on the wing, I will never understand.

Happy to get the 2 points, but the top teams will not be shaking in their boots at the prospect of playing us. Lots of improvement and consistency to be achieved.

Not sure if anyone has listened to the Ch 9 commentary yet but gee they sounded so underwhelmed at calling that game. Only when Fifita scored his tries or when the Tigers were making their comeback did they sound a little more animated. Just got the impression they did not want to be there.

Read it properly you muppet I was referring to showing signs of improvement I never once said anything about being premiership contenders

What are you on? I want some

I love how you call me a muppet and say "read it properly" when you are the one who needs to learn how to read. You were REPLYING TO MY COMMENT you imbecile! How could you be talking about showing signs of improvement when I never said that in my original comment?

The following text is copy-pasted from the last line of my initially comment - which, by the way, wasn't even directed at you to begin with:

I'm certainly not suggesting this Sharks side is "a team of chomps", but I do believe that they are playing mediocre football and showing no signs that they have what it takes to match-it with the gun teams in the comp come finals time.

To which you replied in full with:

Showing no signs? the first 40 was nearly the perfect half of football that's a sign right there

So, clearly, with that comment you were implying that the Sharks ARE showing signs that they can contend for the title this season, even if you're too thick to realise it.

Was a long drive home yesterday arvo, even did the fatherly thing and stopped at Top Ryde to get a few bits of merchandise i avoided buying at the game for the kids haha. Very painful drive in that seedy state, Maccas feed on the F3 was a life saver for sure.

Big thanks to Snowman for hooking us up on friday night with incredible seats, DJhabib and Gards for drinking buddies etc and the lift home and Dylan the Villain (and probably other forum members i met but didnt realise it). Was a top night, and only made better with a win on the field

Why Fifita is being talked about as the best prop in the game recently, and Wright is not talked about as a solid first grade centre

Not sure where to post this but someone please tell me :

Was that the tigers merchandise van set up inside remondis stadium tonight ? Inside the park ? Please tell me it wasn't , if it was wtf ?... Our clubs has rocks in its head , come to a sharks home game and buy tigers merch ? Please".......FMd !!!

Overall not too bad of a performance , first 20 pf the second half was a bit iffy but the share of the pill was always gonna turn around. Mills don't be too hard , terrible performance but it happens thankfully he won't be here next year and probably not again this season with , what flanno was thinking I have no idea , fifth is turning into one of the games marquee players and Todd was mostly very good tonight too , I'll take those 2 points but please beaut and flash be fit for next Friday.

Tigers merch inside our home ground , bloody hell what a freakin joke

you do know they pay us to be there right? same as the roosters van last year and the year before
