Toyota Cowboys make one change

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys coach Neil Henry has challenged his players to restore pride in the Cowboys jersey with a spirited performance against Cronulla at Dairy Farmers Stadium on Saturday night.
Henry has made just one change to the line-up that suffered a disappointing 58-12 loss to Melbourne last weekend, with Carl Webb returning to the bench after overcoming a hamstring injury.
Isaak Ah Mau has been named as 18th man to accommodate the return of the former Queensland Origin enforcer, while reserve rake Anthony Watts is in some doubt with a shoulder injury.
Asked if he had considered making wholesale changes following the heavy loss to the Storm, the coach backed his players to bounce back strongly against the Sharks.
"How we react is very important and we need to make a bit of a statement that the squad is strong enough to win games, and we need to pull together and get the performances on the field," Henry said.
"The same bunch of players get an opportunity to prove their worth and get out there and perform with the club, and that's where we're at with it."
"I thought some of our less experienced players - Dane Hogan and Isaak Ah Mau - did their assignment and tried very hard."
"A couple of our key players probably didn't play a very dominant role in that game as well, but again they're players that have performed for the club over a number of years and they need to step up this weekend."
"Whichever way you look at it, it's an embarrassing loss for the club in the context of the season ... and we're very disappointed about that as a coaching staff and as a playing roster. And essentially the same players get that opportunity to show their local fans what it means to them to play for this club."
And the coach is refusing to give up hope on the 2010 campaign despite his side's precarious position on the ladder.
"We have to try and win as many games as we can and mathematically we can still make the finals - I think (we need to win) eight out of 10 games," a defiant Henry said.
"The Sharks are in a similar situation and I suppose there's a few teams down there with an opportunity to push forward. All we can do is hopefully get a win and then get a bye and then it's a four-point game for us and then reassess that after the Origin series and try and build a bit of momentum."
Asked to elaborate on Watts' shoulder injury, Henry replied: "He's had an MRI and there's some damage there and he's seeing our surgeon John Maguire today and we'll know a bit more."
"But he's reasonably confident he can play, it's quite stable but whether or not it needs surgery or can be managed for the rest of the year we'll find out later today."
"So we've left him in the side, there's certainly an element of doubt about him playing but at the moment he's pretty optimistic."
