I'm not convinced what Snowden did was intentional. He ran in front of him to try and charge the ball down. I don't think he even meant to hit him to be honest.

we have a good record vsing the cowboys but im still not confident going into this one. especially if we lose Snowden. I just hope they dont put matty bowen at 5/8th again like they did vsing the Raiders. he always seems to be the one that hurts us the most over the last few years

Drop wright, he runs like a cat, had a clear gap to run through to get to the try yesterday but shat himself, I was filthy.

He run a poor line when there was a great line on offer, but its nothing to drop him for. I think Barrett even knew Wright and ****ed the run but the offer of the gap was too great and he gave the ball in hope.

Dropping someone who was in the side doesn't help covering the loss of Snowden from suspension either.

Someone mentioned Anelzark and given that Cordoba can come back from 10+ weeks injury, play one game in reggies and push Cuthbertson out I wouldn't mind seeing him get a go.

Bowen's grand 5/8 play had little to do with them winning compared to the Raider's ability to **** the gear and lose a gimme match on the road.

The Adjudicator: NRL R16

The Adjudicator gives his early take on round 16 of the NRL premiership
By The Adjudicator
foxsports.com.au
June 22, 2010

<EDITED>

North Queensland Cowboys v Cronulla, Dairy Farmers Stadium, Saturday 7.30pm (EST)

The Adjudicator says: "It is hard to comprehend that one of these two teams, the same two that had their pants pulled down by a total of 64 points last weekend, will have another two competition points to call their own by 9.30pm (EST) on Saturday. The question is - which one? The answer is - I have no idea. This is your time to shine, loyal followers. Give me your tip, your justification and I'll run with the best one - cos I've got nothin'."

LATEST COMMENTS FROM FANS

Shaneo from Auckland says: "Hard to believe that the Sharkies could have another 2 points? If the sharkies were playing the Cowboys last week at Shark park then they could have won by 62. I realise it’s a difficult proposition travelling up north, ala Raiders, but the Sharkies have to win with one, maybe but a big margin also. Thurston seems to be feeling the strain, Sharkies by 20."

Scott of Waterford says: "Sharks have been GREAT the last month or so. Their attack has been sharp, however they struggle to put icing on the cake when they look almost set to score. They did well against the BEST defensive team in the game with a bit of good defence of their own. The Cowboys have poor defence and at the moment lack any real attacking power. Going on how these teams have played leading up to this game i'd have to go with the Sharks, i'm sure they'll be working on finishing their set attacking plays. Gardiner has been in good form for them aswel. Sharks by 12"

Sharks Snowden Takes Early Guilty Plea - Cronulla Sharks

Sharks Snowden Takes Early Guilty Plea
22/06/2010 9:35:02 AM

Prop Kade Snowden will miss the Sharks clash with North Queensland Cowboys this weekend, taking the early guilty plea after he was charged by the NRL match review committee.

Snowden was charged with making dangerous contact with St George Illawarra five-eighth Jamie Soward's head while he was in the act of kicking.

The 23-year-old will now miss his final chance to impress NSW State of Origin selectors before the side is picked on Monday June 28.

Coach Ricky Stuart will named his side to take on the Cowboys on Tuesday afternoon.

i think he took it because either way he would have missed a week and by fighting the charge it would have used more carry over points... i'm almost certain that would be why

why did snowden not fight this charge he had nothing to lose, according to the daily telegraph he was facing a week ban from early plea or the same if he fought the charge

I can't believe some people want Tautai over Pom. Tautai has been our worst player all year, constantly dropping the ball and making bad reads in defence.

That sounds a lot like Pom actually, but Pom has the advantage of more experience, more speed and hopefully after his operation his defence should atleast be a BIT better... Either that or bring Fergiferg into the centers and bring back Cov!

I think you are probably on the money there mate, only doubts I have would be over Cuthbertson. Don't know what his story has been lately but I want to se him earn his money!

Sounds like a plan mate.:cheers

Yeah, I'm not 100% happy with Cuthbertson, Cordoba or B. Wright. They're all nuffies until proven otherwise IMO. It's okay to have a nuffie on the bench but we really had to start one.

Actually that's a good point, I'd probably start Vave. Why not? He's easily our third best prop. It's a knight game. Do it Ricky!

That way you have Cordoba, B. Wright, and Cuthbertson on the bench. All of them are really crappy utility forwards so they could just be used where appropriate.

Wouldn't be surprised if Harlen gets the callup.

I actually reckon B.Wright has got potential but you are right, he probably isn't a starter. Then again, by starting Vave, you probably take away some of his impact value so maybe starting Wright or Cordoba is the right move.

How far away is Johhny Mannah? Can't wait to see him back!

I would be. Sticky hasn't been enthusiastic about Cuthbo and dropped him as soon as Cordoba was back which I think shows that he really doesn't rate Harlen so I think Cuthbo will be back again. Still feel free to make me eat these words if it is Harlen.

I would love if Mannah came back.

Some of our bench forwards have been doing really low minutes, sub 20 minutes sometimes, so we can probably cover Snowdens loss by giving more minutes to the nuffies without it having a huge impact.

If we used Fergo as a center and put Cov on the wing, I wouldn't put Fergo with Gordon as they both can be suspect defensively. Cov and Collis are both better defenders, so it'd be better IMO to have:

2. Gordon
3. Collis
4. Fergy
5. Cov
