You have just noticed? People have Been slamming gal for almost the whole year now. It's not as bad as the roosters to eels to storm game. They love everyone 1 minute then hates the next. It's crap and a lot of these fans need to take a look at themselves.

Every player we have is a good player and every player can perform. We just need to get back to that winning formula like we did for the dragons panthers manly roosters and storm game.(I know we lost 2 of them games but **** we took them to hell and back) a lot I say has to do with training. Boys just need to want it more. Nothing to do with any of there skills.

There are as couple of issues here IMO.

1. Paul Gallen is the heart and soul of our club and he will do anything to win
2. Gallen plays his best when he is running hard and looking for offloads through the line.
3. Our halves are not providing sufficient direction or spark in attack
4. As our most experienced player, Gallen is trying to take on more responsibility in creating plays before the line
5. Ball playing before the line is not Paul Gallens strength as a player and our sttack looks stilted
6. No one seems to be able to step up and take this responsibility and tell Gallen to focus on his best role.

This is a coaching and leadership issue. We need to instill leadership in our halves that it is their job to direct the team and theat include the captain. We have young halves who need to be developed in their playmaking and leadersip qualities. This will come but will take some time.

Really disappointing game to watch. Some luck went against us and injuries have bitten us hard but having said all that, we have had depth for a change this year and the team just haven't put in enough work, other than Gal.

One difference that has been evident in most games is the kicking game. It is just not coming along. I am not really sure what Flano can do about it for this year but it has been a big difference between us and our opposition. An extension on that is that we have had to defend so many repeat sets that kill our team's energy and stamina. Surely some of that must be coming down to the way we are defending and positioning on kicks.

In terms of individuals most of our team wasn't good enough, but I was happy with Gal. Stapo looked better than I thought he would, ran with heart and was good under the high ball but looked a little exposed with his positioning in defence.

Townsend did not have a blinder by any means but he'll be better off for the game.

Gardner had an unlucky night and was still finding his feet. He'll be good again come round 15, whern we should have almost all our players back and hopefully give the Bulldogs a little surprise.

We did discuss concerns about this years kicking game at length last off season! These problems are no surprise! Flano has a whinge about it at two consecutive post match interviews!

My question what is he doing about it? He must have known this would be an issue, some of us did?

What a waste of a bench spot collis was

12m and 2 tackles FMD

(NRL websites stats)

Surely Frizzel/Vave would have been a better choice for the bench

Frizzel/Vave would of been the smart choice.

And would of given them MASSIVELY needed experience for next season.

Not to mention that Snowwie's shoulder is rooted, Douggies knee was surely still weak (and quite easily could of been injuried early in the piece), and he goes in with the lightest bench of the season, stupid bench selection.

The proof is in the pudding and the guys looked stuffed all night, and couldnt get off their defensive line.

i agree - collis on the bench an absolute waste, especially given our two starting props going into the game with existing injuries/niggles.

i've been a big supporter of Flanno and so far this year despite the losses I think he's been going OK but now I'm starting to lose a bit of faith, given some of the decisions he's made this year.

positives - great to see townsend get a crack and he will only improve - liked his kicking not everything came off but he tried hard.

negative - when i hear stapo was getting a run i was excited but if he has been playing wing in NSW cup then what the hell was he doing running beside the opposition winger to the tryline? he needed to either make a decision and come out of the line and shut down the play or hold his ground - on a couple of occasions he got caught out and that lead to soft tries.

only my opinion, i'll probably be smashed by some blokes in here but watching it on friday night with my broncos boof head mates wasnt fun!

Agree about Stapo. I think he was great under the high ball and some of his runs back were great. He was standing to far in off his wing and his man got around him pretty well. If he can fix that up I would be happy for him to stay on the wing long term.

we could just go down the warriors road to success and play 2 backrowers in the centres. The halves need to grow a set and take control of the game away from gallen until this happens the backline will be useless.

While I don't like the idea of using backrowers in the centres it could be an idea until our halves start to move the ball. Gallen is being forced to try and make plays because the halves aren't doing it as you say.

If we did want to go down that road Tupou and Frizzell would be good for this role.

I was smashed last night and didn't catch the game. I've recorded it and want to watch it to see how Townsend went and such, but from all reports it was a ****ing shocker of a game.

It was, I did the same thing as you an watched it hung over. I couldn't bring myself to watch it properly I did alot of fast forwarding watched the game in about an hour.

Totally agree. Gallen is doing too much, he almost has a "6" on his back.

Lets face it, we aren't the most attacking team in the comp, and maybe a slight change in tactics would be better. Tupou and Bukuya have some experience in the centres and I don't think many of the soft Brisbane tries out wide on Friday night would occur with someone like them marking out wide. And Tupou would still be a better centre than Pomeroy or Collis anyway!

I personally would leave Bukuya in the backrow and not move him to centre if we were going to go with this idea. Bukuya is probably the most capable of playing centre out of the lot but his work rate is great and we need to keep him in the backrow.

Frizzell would easily be my first choice to play in the centres out of our backrowers. He is a very good athlete with a fair bit of speed. Plays as an edge backrower. Plus it would be a good way to warm him into the edge backrow position in the NRL team.

Haha I sort of don't mind this idea deano. I mean it's silly, but would be good for a laugh.

Matt Wright has some back row experience as well, and if you think of Graham as a back rower that's getting close to a team of back rowers.

LMAO...no matter who you put on the bench mate, if you only give them 13 minutes and NO BALL, you are not going to get better stats than that.

i wouldnt give collis the ball either, he is garbage

I Agree with this. and as much as i hate to say it... i think Best needs to be dropped to NSW cup as well. I dont want him dropped but he just isnt doing anything. Put mills in there as it seems his biggest flaw at the moment is under the high ball. And as he said in his interview he hasnt done it much over his career.
