Won the half time comp.
Produced a polished under pressure kick

lucky bounce could of gone anywhere

gardner- solid, nothing special in his return but did make a big mistake
wright- solid as usual always gets us on the front foot with his kick returns
pomeroy- solid, not the x factor we need. Enter ricky leutele and matty wright to the centres
best- again has no x factor and without early ball he can't do anything with it
stapo- safe under the high ball like his last stint in FG deserves to retain a spot
graham- same as usual, can't find ground with his kicks but the rest of his game is good
townsend- good steady debut, from the sideline he looked abit overawed and struggles to tell the older guys where to be but will get better and should be there for the rest of the season
snowden- played tough but doesn't look as good as he was at the start of the year, isn't bending the line
morris- what we usually expect organised and solid game
douglas- great effort to play and played his normal good game
bukuya- good game is starting to lead that forward pack abit with his good runs and tough defense
tupou- quiet, needs AK inside him
gallen- same as usual

mannah- thought he played great and really stood up, looked quicker than he has in other games and made good metres. If he keeps this up he will have a prop spot next year
tautai- solid, didn't really notice him
flanagan- doesn't give much, only plays limited minutes
collis- can't commment on limited minutes

Watching the game last night there are a number of opinions I formed:

Stapleton needs to stay in the side as a winger for next game. I thought he did well with receiving kicks.

Pomeroy needs to go...his defense reads were terrible. (you do not run backwards in defense when on the ten metre line!). Collis needs to take his place - he didn't play badly - he just had nowhere to move each time the ball reached him. If teammates can pass a little quicker out the back he will be able to work with that space...Poms on the other hand won't pass to his winger but Collis will.

We won't have Gardner much longer if Gallen keeps giving him those hospital passes. Get the hell out of the backline Gallen and give Townsend a chance to work the backline to best effect. I saw enough of Townsend to see that he can do some good things with wrap around passes to fire the ball out fast out the back and that includes putting Gardner into space. Once the rest of the team learns what Chad is wants/tries to do then Wade Graham will hopefully stop running with the ball and pass it on instead. Wade doesn't have the creativity to deceive the opposition but if he can get the ball to Collis and Best with them to have room to move, then our wingers will play a more significant role rather than just decorating the sidelines.

Bakuya is an ever improving player. Don't let him get away.

Vave should have been on the bench

Tupou should also be on the bench. Mix him up with Brod Wright

Not sure why Mills didn't play but we should persist with him - possibly have either Matthew Wright or Mills as a bench player for the backline to fill in as centre/winger and the other as a winger

We have to get that backline sweeping ASAP:hoping

We have to put pressure on the opposition when we kick on the last - EVERYTIME!!!!!!!:(:(:(
Our centres and wingers are wasted in attack
we could just go down the warriors road to success and play 2 backrowers in the centres. The halves need to grow a set and take control of the game away from gallen until this happens the backline will be useless.

use of the bench is woeful- we only go in with 2 forwards and then the play a combined 38 minutes no wonder we make mistakes and are always going backwards in defense because everyone is stuffed. Collis only played 16 minutes.
Tatui at prop was a good move 20 min 18 tackles and 50m from 5 hit-ups(best of our props m/hu)

another thing is that their hookers ran over twice as much from dummy half 20/7 wait thats almost 3 times as many as us

does anyone actually tell gal he does too much? or are people scared to tell him? or does he ignore them or does he just get in the zone and takes the ball heaps

Problem is if you listen to Flanno's press conference comments, things look destined to continue this way with comments like "Apart from 'Gal' there wasn't too many good performances there"

I am not sure Flanno was talking about Townsend. I think some of you may be over reacting. I think we all agree that Graham is good but not at 5/8. With kelly coming back I think it would safe to say that he and Townsend will be our halves combo for the rest of year.
I would like to see Morris run the ball more. I can't remember him taking on the line much last night. Ation will come back next game and I think that will help.

i think hes getting a big head (gal) but not in ego, in the fact that he thinks hes the nly one that can create anything becasue he thinks our halves are useless and he thinks hes the only one that can put the effort in. he needs to relax and be selective with his runs. but i know if he DID take a step ack and we started to take control of the game, i have a feeling gal would get excited and just start taking a thousand runs again anyway. its a tough sitcho

LOL this is a classic! We must be running out of people to blame, 'cos now we're criticising Gallen!

Just what we need, for the fans to start bagging the only bloke who genuinely seems to be putting his heart into the game. Maybe if a few of the others had his attitude, he wouldn't feel like he had to do so much.

Drag Queen territory.
I've spent the whole afternoon dodging lightning bolts, you think I like taking shots at God?

But sometimes it has to be said. Gal does need to take a bit of a step back.

I was smashed last night and didn't catch the game. I've recorded it and want to watch it to see how Townsend went and such, but from all reports it was a ****ing shocker of a game.

It's pretty sad when people are saying that the one bloke who wants to have a go should stop having a go.

Don't think it is a case of that at all, however, if having a go means a predictable attack every set without looking like scoring, surely that's not a good thing? It appears to me that we are limited to bash and barge up the middle as Plan A with no backup

I think it is more a case of how others need to stand up and impose themselves more. That is down to Flanno's management to get the best out of everyone in the squad. Whether that means Gal being a decoy runner for instance occasionally, it at least will vary things a bit.

Unfortunately, most weeks it's not the case and we are under-performing terribly. Whilst I don't expect us to make the 8, I reckon we have the potential there within our squad to at lease finish within 10th-12th. The way we have performed at times, it looks like we are a long way from that

Mate, seriously do not watch it, it will leave you feeling depressed, it was like watching men play against boys last night. Funny thing is the Broncos probably had more of a younger side than us.

My fear is teams are going to start looking at us or treating us w/ utter disrespect with performances like that.

We or the club missed a genuine opportunity to bring more fans in to our next home game w/ how they played last night which is the last thing we need, we didnt need to necessarily win last night although thats what we all want but atleast we could have gone down swinging.

You have just noticed? People have Been slamming gal for almost the whole year now. It's not as bad as the roosters to eels to storm game. They love everyone 1 minute then hates the next. It's crap and a lot of these fans need to take a look at themselves.

Every player we have is a good player and every player can perform. We just need to get back to that winning formula like we did for the dragons panthers manly roosters and storm game.(I know we lost 2 of them games but **** we took them to hell and back) a lot I say has to do with training. Boys just need to want it more. Nothing to do with any of there skills.
