I cant remember who it was, but one of the raiders players tried to interfer with the kick for touch as well ala World Club Challenge.

If you read anything into the first round one way or another you have a very short term memory - parra the years they won the spoon started the years flogging their opponents - many examples of a poor start and a good finish.

Put away the ropes and razors till round 5

Didn't the Rabbitohs lose their first game last year?

No reason to get gloomy at the moment.

It was like the team were treating this game as a trial.
Our structure (if we had any) was thrown out the window as soon as Barba lost his confidence after that shocking bomb.

What's the go with our right hand side? Seemed to be non existent in attack all night. I know when Lewis comes back he will create a presence there but how many games will Mr injury play? With Gal, Graham and often barba stacking to the left we seem a bit lop sided.

I thought Graham was missing in attack last night. He's back to being the battering ram that Flanno makes him. Last year he looked very good in a few games were he got to ball play a bit and use his kicking game, the Penrith game is one I can think of. It's wasted talent IMO. This is my main criticism of Flanno, he doesn't give the team enough options in attack when he has the players to do it, instead providing them all with very specific roles that make us predictable. Graham should take over the attack at times during the game to mix up what the defence is looking at, get Barba out of that position at times so he can play more like a running fullback. It's about never letting the defence get into a comfort zone.

The problem is hamsy it's hard not to get down when it doesn't appear as though much is changing. I'll reserve judgement for a while I guess but I've said all along we won't make the 8 this year. What I saw last night did nothing to change my mind.

Spot on HB, it isn't about one game in isolation, there has been a trend of mediocre with Flanno's team for a while now.

People didn't seem to understand why I was flying off the handle last night after a narrow round 1 loss;

It's the fact we have lost so many games like that playing the way we do and I see nothing in place, players or coaching wise to change it so there is little to feel positive about anymore while Flanno is at the helm
So as members and fans we rock up and watch a carbon copy of the previous ****ty home game at Remondis and the exact same result at the end of the 80 mins.

It's like waking up once a week staring at a green painting in your house but hoping and expecting one day that you will wake up and the painting will be blue - ain't gunna happen, oh but you are spending your time & $ to discover what you already know

maybe Flanno thinks a slight improvement on 2014 will be enough to make the 8 but it won't. So sick of all the talk and hype, about time he delivered.

Unfortunately it's not just negative coaching but also negative captaining. Taking the two on two separate occasions when we were on top was horrible. It's exactly what Canberra would have wanted us to do and we obliged.

We are just a negative team. And watching some of the other teams over the weekend just makes it even more depressing.

taking the 2 against a Ricky Stuart side and still losing, so much irony

We got beaten by the 2009 Sharks last night, the raiders had nothing really

we had the ball inside their 20 for something like 20 tackles and walked away with three tries and if gallen lets ennis play on instead of taking the 2 we probably have 35 tackles for 5 tries - its was very scrappy by us for sure but barba got outside his man a couple of times and got the ball wide quickly which let feki and ricky get one on and score. 64% of the game was played in our half which was due to drop ball - thats rust and that can be fixed. If we play like that with an 80% completion rate i would be worried but at 67% to score three tries and lose by 4 its not great but it can be foxed.

All of the above, except for the slight improvement on 2014, I don't see this happening and we didn't even have a coach last year.

I also thought taking the 2 was a bad option, probably the only part of the game we were starting to come on top and it killed all momentum

Can't blame them for taking the two. If we played on some moron would have just dropped the ball or kicked out on the full anyway.

Interesting to note: Barba didn't miss a tackle on Sunday.
As long as he never kicks again I'll be happy.

Also Mitch Brown should be dropped for Gagan and if he isn't fit, put holmes back there- even If his 20's performance was average by his standard.

Some of you needed a 9 hour drive after the game to clear your heads like I had even my 8 year old daughter was still whinging about wighton punching on as we were going through Goulburn.. Absolute awsome weekend just had the tarnish taken off by 80 minutes of footy, but alias the joys of being a Sharks fan, I swear Andrew fafitas has been watching Adam cuthbutson's career blooper highlights he is so frustrating has so much X factor but just can't translate it at the moment..

I don't like gaps. Particularly ones from 20m taps.

Usually in this place I'm reading the forum equivalent of a Pommeroy, but this post is at least of Gavin Miller quality. Keep em coming :)
