The problem with the DT blogs is that they screen all the comments and they can pick and choose which ones they will publish.
They will usually publish a vast majority of comments that agree with the blogger. They will occasionally publish those that don’t agree with the blogger, but they are usually overly emotional and do not usually make sensible arguments.
This is irresponsible of the Daily Telegraph as they make it appear as though it is an open forum when clearly it is not. They always skew it to be as sensationalist as possible.
Today they actually published my comment! They are similar to your thoughts '67:
Was Gallen even given the opportunity to defend himself before being issued with the fine?
Was there any hearing?
Everyone has just assumed guilt. Absolutely ridiculous. This would not happen for any other type of matter.
Doesnt seem fair to me.

There was no hearing because Mickey Paea is a great man and didn’t want all the controversy. Neither Gallen nor his manager have disputed calling him a black c.... . We don’t need a hearing.

I actually sent in two comments and they decided to publish this one, because I did not go into as much depth. (The depth of my other comment significantly strengthened my argument as well)
In my opinion, his reply makes him look like a total goose.
I would like to urge everyone to only write sensible arguments on these blogs, as anything that is highly emotional will be put on there as the sole opposition, making it appear as though we are a bunch of lunatics.
PS. I don’t really live in Kogarah, but I thought it was the only possible way of being published!
