Phil has his good points. His ugly mug is a constant reminder that I need to drink less. He looks permanently sozzled.

Like him or not he's right. It's an inconvenient truth, but a truth nonetheless, the players are running this club, and by and large nrl players just aren't bright enough to do that. After the year we've had we let the players become a headline grabbing photo op! Really?!

i can understand his frustration, but really does he need to vent in a public forum,if he is so in with the board should he not be voicing his concerns direct to Mr Keogh & how do we know that the board are not waiting for the NRL review before putting
structures in place.
There are certain things the club can do but there is no guarantee that they would work & remember we are dealing with a group of people that hired for their playing ability not theirs brains.
Clubs & players will make mistakes but like life you learn from them & move on,the club will get better both on & of the field but we are in a dark place & it won't be overnight.some hard
decisions have to be made but onwards & upwards

It is salient that today in the paper they are reporting a drop in rugby league ratings across every broadcaster for last season. The survival of clubs and the game itself in it's current shape is not a given. The club should impress this fact upon the players. Look after your brand.

All that needed to happen was for a club official to check out the venue the boys were going to. Then ask that the girls not be present in ought if current media attention, or change venues. It's pretty simple.

Probably two things contributing to this more than player behaviour.

1. People getting more and more fed up with constant tinkering with the game and its rules.
2. More people illegally streaming.

Matt Johns solution: "We need to interview more players"

http://www.triplem.com.au/sydney/sp...-matty-johns-on-nrl-television-ratings-slide/

Seriously, are there any media that cover the NRL that aren't dribblers these days?

Just stop ****ing around with the game and its rules and stop pandering to soccer mums. Honestly, it's that simple for me, it drives me insane. Every year I find myself watching more and more AFL and I can't see that trend halting the way the NRL is going.
