I know some fans get a bit nervous when Ronaldo goes into niggle mode but I think he helped turn the tide yesterday.

Twice we'd had a player rag-dolled over the sideline and the doggies were really trying to bully us.

Ronaldo decided to get in their face and bring the situation to a head. After that things seemed to settle down and the dogs lost their bite.
Yep, seemed a lot more purposeful in his actions. I don't mind the spirit, its the lack of control that was an issue and how it affected his game. He seems to be in a sweet spot right now. Loving his work

And how good is his leap? Amazing.
He has really worked on that. Before last year I don't think I saw it at all.
I know it is not taken much notice of but they were saying on BSB this morning that he is threatening to be the best winger in the comp in a year or two.

he was the best winger in the comp last year not named brian to'o
I didn't think To'o was anywhere near as good last year on the right. 2021 he was incredible though, and he has a skill set that most other wingers don't.

As long as he maintains control and doesnt cross that line then its fine. But he was walking that tight rope a couple of times yesterday. It’s great he didn’t cross that line this time around.

I was worried that he was going to do a Tagataese on the opposition winger at one point

They rag dolled our half then three of them stood over them, Ronnie came in and gave one a shove over then started trying to help Moyza up
They made knee contact with his head and he reacted

Neither of those is that outrageous
But yes with Ronnie there is always the fear it goes a step to far and also it's always him

It's okay to always be him, he's passionate, just don't become Rapana where it's always him but it usually a step to far

Katoa flying in late on the second little shovepile concerned me more. He had plenty of time to not come in in a way which risked escalating it and presumably then seeing him binned

He's the most passionate Shark in the team. He is currently at about 10, and we need him at about 8 levels of passion.

Not sure what scale you are using but I'd definitely put him at an 11/10

Rapana's are usually because he's given someone a dog shot. Ronnie just needs to be careful of the third man in rule, otherwise he'll start getting marched regularly.

I don't even care that much more anymore about his niggle and cheekiness , he is backing it up with some excellent footy and frankly our forwards lack alot of that agro aggressiona and fire. If you ask Ronnie to calm the farm a bit and bottle the passion then maybe Ronnie doesn't play as well

There is no way Fitz hasn't addressed discipline and brain snappage with the squad and is trying to get the balance right with his players

There's no malice with him, he shakes everyones hand after the game without a chip on his shoulder and I doubt he holds a grudge off field
If he were a bad seed he wouldn't be in our squad

Love Ronnie

Yep if Ronnie is first man in he might spark something but he doesn't really "go to far" currently
3rd man in is where I also see him more of a liability potentially, especially as he comes with a rep.
As I edited into my post late joining by Katoa concerned me more than Ronnie grabbing the bloke whose knees just hit him in the head.

Hopefully also Ronnie knows if ref says stop or he is being targeted he should take a breath and make the smart play.
Annoying the other team is beneficial, being annoyed by them isn't.

Funny watching Bulldogs fans going on about "Ronnie is rattled by Avarillo" "Jake is in Ronaldo's head" and then seeing him sail through the air to score.

The way Smith & Ennis carried on you'd think Ronny was out there picking on innocent school kids like an unprovoked madman.

Can everyone join me in prayer that Warren Smith tears his vocal chords in the next fortnight. I'm so sick of that clueless smug prick & his "like an exocet missile" bullshit.

I actually don't mind him.
